Red Steve's POV

"Do you... know what happened to him?" My head was tilted and resting on my right hand that was resting on my crossed left hand. My expression showed confusion and worry.

"N? Nani ga mondai no yō ni miemasu ka? (Hm? What appears to be the problem?)" Sabre, a robot that had come through a portal a few weeks ago, was broken. In most ways possible. He didn't appear to have much physical damage done to him, so I doubt there was a fight.. Just a scratch on his cheek and.. frizzled hair? Like how Professor Goggles- ahem, Red- has them after an explosion, so it shows there definitely was something... Unless it's a consequence of an error of his program, because there certainly is an error of sorts.

"Nope... No clue.." My best friend Orange was just as clueless as me. We had made Sabre sit on a chair outside near a lake where I and Orange usually meet. Don't ask why there's a chair, okay? "Just what language is he speaking?!" Neither of us understood.

"Oh, verstehst du vielleicht Deutsch? (Oh, do you perhaps understand German?)" He said something again, but it seemed like a different language. So we stared at him blankly. "¿Qué pasa con eso? (What about that?)"

More staring and getting confused. "...Forse questa lingua? (Maybe this language?)" He tilted his head. My eyes brightened up a little.

"I know lingua means 'language'!" I smiled, hopeful for progress. Sabre smiled too and repeated the word after me. "Yes, language!"

"Linguage..?"

"Language."

"Lan.. gua... ge? Language?"

"Yes!" Never did I think I'd be beyond happy for a single word. Sabre smiled with his teeth just like me, probably happy too to break the barrier.

"Language..." he repeated again, but in full fluency. He put his fingers on his chin in thought, maybe looking through however many languages he knew to find the right one? I'm not very fluent in that kind of redstone. If it's even redstone in the first place- "Oh! English! Is you language English?" He leant forward in his chair, hopeful.

"Whatever it's called, yes! We speak that!" Both I and Orange hugged out of joy. Finally! Progress has been made! "Excellent... Now we can communicate with each other way better!"

"Agreed! May I ask then why did you bring me here?" Sabre leant back in his chair, content but curious. We looked back at him.

"Well, Sabre, you see-"

"Wait, how did you know my name?" He instantly grew cautious and his posture did the same. He was ready to bolt out of here any moment we present anything to him that he may interpret as harm or danger. Though I'm not sure how he would do that as there are wheels bolted under his feet. It took as a while to teach him to walk and he was still really bad at it. And clumsy...

I and Orange stared at him and then exchanged confused glances. "You.. You don't remember us..?"

"No, I have never seen you nor is there anything of you in my database or memory." His voice sharp, even sounded angry but that bit was likely form the caution. He stood up and quickly went behind the chair, creating another barrier to protect him. A faint sound only us two learned to hear clicked through the air. He was scanning us, but still awaited our reply. He frowned.

"W-Well... Oh, this is really troubling.. Red, what do we do?! Something happened to him while we were gone!"

"I know! I just... What could've happened that it'd make him lose his memory?! It can't just be erased with a hit of bat to cause amnesia like for organic things... So... it was manual? But who? Sabre wouldn't just let anyone tamper with him." I paced back and forth as I was figuring things out, but not getting the answer.
