Hitler once said that if a lie is repeated often enough, people will start to believe it

Hitler once said that if a lie is repeated often enough, people will start to believe it. I feel that it's not entirely the liar's fault; it's also the fault of the people who believe the lie. People should be smart enough to tell when someone is lying or telling the truth.

However, right now, I strongly disagree with this idea. How can anyone not see through Adrik's lies? He confidently told his Pakhan that I was pregnant, and the Pakhan believed him. It's frustrating.

"I'm not pregnant, and I don't even know you," I whisper to Adrik, pulling away from him.

"This was the second and last time you tried to pull away from me," he says, gripping my hand tightly.

Adrik's words send a chill down my spine. His grip on my hand is unyielding, and I can feel the intensity in his eyes.

We stand there in tense silence for a moment, the weight of the situation sinking in. I have no idea what Adrik's intentions are, and I can't deny the fear that's creeping up within me.

"What do you want from me?" I finally manage to ask, my voice trembling.

Adrik's expression softens slightly, but there's still a hint of determination in his eyes. "I want you to marry me, Grace," he says, his voice dark and serious.

I blink in astonishment. Marry him? This man I barely know, who's dragged me into a world of lies and danger? The very idea seems absurd.

"Why would I marry you?" I retort, unable to hide the disbelief in my voice.

Adrik smirks, like a devil and says "Because it's the only way to protect your brother, you don't want him to die do you?"

" You bastard" I scream at him.

" Umm, hi I'm Jeremy Caron and this is Lev Smirnov." the blonde guy says, extending his hand in a friendly manner.

"You won't lay a finger on him. If something happens to him, I'll make sure you're dead," I assert, my voice quivering with determination.

But Adrik's response sends a shiver down my spine. He fixes his grey eyes on me, their intensity contrasting with his dark hair. His sharp jawline and prominent cheekbones give him a rugged and enigmatic appearance, making it clear that he's a man who has weathered the storms of life.

"I'm already dead inside, Luna," he says with a haunting seriousness.

As I continue to study his features, I realize that there's more to Adrik than meets the eye. His physical presence is imposing, but it's the weight of darkness in his eyes that truly defines him. In this dangerous world, I find myself inexplicably drawn to him, even as I struggle to comprehend the depths of his complexity.

"Come on, little one, don't ignore me now. I'm not too bad to look at either," Jeremy says with a playful grin, trying to lighten the tension in the room.

"Grace Amber," I introduce myself, extending my hand for a handshake.

Jeremy attempts to shake hands with me, but Adrik swiftly slaps his hand away and growls, "She's mine. Don't touch her," his possessiveness is evident in his tone and actions.

"Excuse me, I'm not anyone's property—" I begin to protest, but Adrik interrupts me by pinning me against the wall, his voice laced with intensity as he says through gritted teeth, "I don't care who you are. You are mine." His possessive hold leaves me with no room for argument, and I'm reminded once again of the dangerous territory I've stepped into.

My heart races as Adrik's grip tightens, and I can feel the intensity of his gaze. He's unyielding, and his possessiveness sends a wave of both fear and something I can't quite define coursing through me.

In that moment, I realize that I'm not just caught up in Adrik's world; I'm ensnared in his web of control and desire. It's a dangerous and unfamiliar territory, and I'm not sure how to navigate it.

Jeremy and Lev exchange another knowing look, but this time, it's one filled with a sense of resignation. It's clear that Adrik's word is law in this world, and there's no room for dissent.

As we prepare to leave Arthur's mansion and head to the church for this unexpected wedding, I can't help but feel like a pawn in a high-stakes game. My life has taken a surreal and perilous turn, and the only certainty I have is that Adrik Volkov is a man who brooks no opposition.

I take a deep breath, bracing myself for the uncertain future that lies ahead, where secrets, lies, and the enigmatic allure of Adrik dominate every aspect of my existence.
