Year 2023;
Jeongin's pov -

My arms held the little boy as i tried my best to calm him down, he was hyperventilating, and it was getting harder to console him.

It's just that, i haven't had much experience with children or babies since i am an only child in my family.

But the look on his face told something else, and i could make sure of that, not because he was crying but i could catch fear in his eyes.

Deep fear, which made me confused, what is he afraid of?

I looked deep into his eyes, as i turned his body around, wanting to find what was he fearing so much about...sure, i heard those screams right now,and i surely felt threatened but his was something very different.

"What is your name?" I asked him with the softest voice i could ever mutter, his breathing calming down a bit, but that didn't mean i couldn't see his shaking hands.

"C-choi seung-won... I'm 10 years old..." He said as i smiled and nodded before taking his hand in mine and spoke.

"Seung-won ah, i am jeongin, and i am here with you" i said as he giggled while i pinched his nose, relieving me that i could take his tension and fear away.

"Seung-won ah, be truthful to me, okay?" He nodded his head as i cleared my throat before asking him, "why are you so scared? Did you see something which scared you?"

His feared expression gave it away, it was very simple to understand that he saw something he shouldn't have, that one thing seems to have scared him to his pants.

"H-he ate him..." He slowly spoke as jeongin's eyes hit up to his small voice before they enlarged in their own fear of the way his words formed.

"W-what" the indecrulous expression on jeongin's face was baffling, what was he even speaking of? 'he ate him' what ate him?

"I-i saw it, he jumped at him and bit into his neck, it was l-like he was e-eating him, hyung..." He said and looked at jeongin with widened eyes but jeongin didn't know what to say because his words made no sense to jeongin, at all.

"Baby...what are you talking about? Why would a human eat a human?" Jeongin asked him but he could see that he was feeling uneasy to answer him, and jeongin understood before he dismissed the topic itself.

"Then, let's not talk about that, okay?" Jeongin asked and he nodded with a light-tipped smile and jeongin started a conversation with about school and games to distract him from the absence of the man earlier.

The loud thud of the door alerted them both as they both peeked out and saw the man earlier, exhausted but also horror expression on his face was something jeongin didn't expect to see.

The expression of relief on seung-won's face made jeongin smile as he got up to run to the man earlier, and he too(hyunjin) got up but the sudden thud again.

Made jeongin pull seung-won back to his embrace, as jeongin saw that same man fighting with something that was on the other side of the door, what was it?

Just after pushing whatever was on the other side, he sat down again but his entire body was as still as the entire coach, just staring at him was, he was almost traumatized.

His graze immediately transferred to the old woman who sat beside him on the seat now, and his face morphed into horror and fear as he stood up to run and took big steps towards jeongin and seung-won, while jeongin didn't understand a bit, what was happening.

Hyunjin's pov -

I immediately turned my face to the grandma next to me, and the way she was crying holding her arm made me realize why she was so scared, i didn't understand at first but that mark...
