As I entered our family home, the familiar surroundings greeted me with warmth and comfort. The scent of a home-cooked meal lingered in the air, a stark contrast to the burning rubber and gasoline I was accustomed to in my other world.

I was met with a warm smile from my older brother, Kai Kogashiwa, who was already at the dining table. His resemblance to our father, Ken Kogashiwa, was striking, and their shared love for racing was undeniable. It was the tie that bound us as a family.

"Hey, Y/N, how was your day?" Kai asked, his eyes curious but gentle, knowing that I often treaded a different path from his and Dad's.

Our father, Ken, was busy putting the finishing touches on dinner. He looked up and grinned, his eyes filled with a mixture of pride and understanding. "Y/N."

I couldn't help but be intrigued. In a family where racing was more than a hobby, my name wasn't often called upon. What had they planned this time?

With a sense of anticipation, I took my seat at the table, ready to hear what my father and brother had in store for me.

As I took my seat at the dinner table, I noticed a shift in the atmosphere. There was a hesitancy in Kai and dad's expressions that hadn't been there before. Their gaze carried a certain gravity, and I sensed that something was amiss.

"Y/N," Kai began with a sigh, "we need to talk."

I exchanged a concerned look with my father, who nodded in agreement. "Your racing lifestyle, Y/N, it's becoming more and more dangerous," Ken added, his voice laced with concern.

I frowned, my heart sinking as their words settled in. It was clear that they were no longer supportive of my passion for racing. The racing world that had united us as a family was now a source of tension.

Kai continued, "We worry about your safety, Y/N. We've seen the close calls, the risks you take, and it's keeping us up at night."

The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. My family's love for racing, which had once been a shared bond, had now transformed into a source of friction. They were no longer enthusiastic about my late-night escapades and dangerous drifts.

The tension in the room was palpable, and the unease grew as Dad continued to express his concerns. I had always known that my family cared deeply for my well-being, but this confrontation was different, and I couldn't help but feel the weight of their expectations pressing down on me.

Dad's voice held a mix of worry and frustration. "Y/N, we've watched you push the boundaries of safety time and again. You need to prioritize your education and your future career. Racing isn't a sustainable path."

His words struck a nerve, and I couldn't help but fight back. "Dad, I understand your concerns, but racing is more than just a hobby for me. It's a part of who I am. I can balance my passion with my studies."

Dad's expression hardened, and he didn't mince words. "You need to be realistic, Y/N. You're no match for Kai on the track, and you're putting yourself in unnecessary danger. Racing can't be a career."

Kai remained silent, and his mere presence spoke volumes. It was clear that I was once again being compared to my older brother, who had already established himself as a talented racer.
