Jake Pov:

"Whoops."

The girl I'd bumped into looked up at me. She was livid.

Her chocolate hair fell over her shoulders. Her dark blue eyes were so beautiful they made me feel intimidated. The look on her face wasn't helping matters either.

I didn't really want to make enemies today. Especially with girls this hot.

For a second her look of hatred vanished, for a second.

"Whoops!" she exclaimed. "You bump into me and waste a perfectly good chocolate cupcake and all you can say is whoops!"

I didn't respond or apologise. I was too busy admiring her.

"Hello." she said, as she waved her hand in front of my face. "I'm talking to you cupcake killer." She continued, pouting.

She looked mad, real mad. "Huh." My ignoring her seemed to make it worse.

"Are you even listening to me?" She said, snapping her fingers for attention.

"Umm.... sorry." was all I could mumble.

"You'd better be." She said. "You owe me a cupcake."

I shook my head to regain my senses. Is this what it actually meant to have a crush? If this is what it felt like, it felt amazing. I didn't know love at first sight was possible.

I apologized again. This time properly, and promised to get her new cupcake.

I walked with her to the front counter as she kept giving me side glares.

Good going, Jake. You meet a hot girl and destroy your chances.

Shut up mind.

I was about to start up a conversation when a woman came out from the door behind the counter. She must've been an employee. She was holding a box containing chocolate cupcakes.

Great.

She smiled at me and said. "Welcome to Sweet on America, what can I get-"

She froze and looked at cupcake girl (a nickname I got for her) and exclaimed. "Elizabeth, What happened!"

So that was her name, Elizabeth. Weird.

That name really didn't go with her personality. Elizabeth sounded like a name for a goody-two-shoes, a bashful girl, someone who'd never pick a fight with anyone. Cupcake girl was the exact opposite. She screamed confident. I really wouldn't like to be on her bad side but, I guess it was already too late for that.

The woman seemed to be waiting for an answer.

Cupcake girl glared at me. I didn't need words to decifer the look on her face. "Care to explain."

"Umm," I scratched my neck. "It was my fault."

The woman looked at me confused. "Your fault?"

"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! " I clarified. "I kinda, accidentally, mistakenly, unintentionally bumped into her."

"And her cupcake fell all over her clothes." The woman continued.

"Yeah, right, that," I said. "I apologized though and I'm buying her a new cupcake."

"Well, there's no reason to worry," The woman said, a warm smile on her face. "At least you acknowledged your mistake."

"Thanks, Umm, Miss-"

"Mrs Jackson, " she said. "But you can call me Sally."

"Thanks, Sally," I said smiling.

"You're welcome." She said in response. "You're such a sweet and polite boy you know. You hardly ever find those out-"
