Keith Pov:

 What had I done...

My sister, the one I was supposed to protect, the one I was supposed to guard, the one I was supposed to love...

Was crying.

Because of me.

I had made her cry.

"Why do you still pretend to love me?!" she asked.

I was shocked, flabbergasted, that she would ask such a question. I could never not love her, let alone pretend to do so.

"Liza," I said. "I have never and will never pretend to love you. I love you; I do. I could never-"

Eliza cut me off screaming at me to shut up, that I was lying, I was a liar.

I wasn't lying of course. I genuinely loved her. Nothing would change that.

I wanted to say those words aloud, to reassure her but the words seemed to stay trapped in my mouth. I couldn't speak.

Liza seemed to cry harder. Her eyes seemed broken, sad and it was my fault.

I watched as she turned away from me and ran up to her bedroom.

"LIZA!" I yelled, hoping to catch her attention.

If she heard me, she didn't show it.

Her door slammed, and it was silent.

What just happened?

I stood there completely shell-shocked.

Eliza and I never fight.

Well at least not until today. And for what, all because of some stupid chocolate icing.

How could I have been so stupid? I made my little sister cry.... cry.

What was wrong with me?

"Babe..." Melissa placed her hand on my shoulder, she was trying to comfort me. I could see her pity for me in her eyes, it was as clear as day. It made me feel ashamed.

"I'm fine... " I said, as I placed my hand on top of hers. "Everything is fine."

I could feel Melissa's eyes on me they were piercing as if she was looking into my very soul.

"No, it isn't," Melissa said, matter of factily. "This fight was stupid."

"No," I said. "I was stupid." I couldn't look Melissa in the eye. I just couldn't.

She sighed, cupped her hand to my face, and turned my head to face her.

"You... you should apologize..."

I stared into her amber-colored eyes. " I can't face her Mel," I said. "Did you see her face, how hurt she looked?"

"I did," said Melissa, staring into my eyes, her blonde hair fell over her shoulders. "I saw but-"

"You think I should apologize."

"Um, yes that."

"And that she'll feel better once I do!"

"Sure."

"You're a genius!"

"Uh..."

"Thanks, Melly, for having this talk with me." I kissed her cheek and ran up the stairs.

"Of course." She said blushing.

I ran back down and grabbed a cupcake from the box of chocolate cupcakes. Liza would forgive me once she saw this.
