17th December, 1975
Dear Roopali,
4 months and 23 days! I haven't seen you for the past 146 days. And I cannot bear it anymore. The sky above me is bleak, and the sea is endless. Everything I see is black, white, and blue. It is you who add a bit of color to my life. I cannot live my life here while you stay miles away from me. I have found a solution to that. I have found us a place to stay near the Naval Base. You will be safe there when I am away. I have told my friends here about you and they are very excited to meet you. I am coming to Bombay to get you on December 22nd via Netravati Express at 5 p.m. We will leave for Cochin on the very next train.
I hope the Earth spins faster.
I love you. Deeper than the deepest trenches of the sea.
Yours,
Apoorva._
