19 Memories in the rain

A grey background to my window,
With a cold breeze seeping in,
I lie against my pillow,
Soaking up the ambience.
Petrichor and raindrops say hello,
The soothing sounds of water dripping down the roof,
The smell of his perfume,
A hot cup of coffee in my hands  as I my heart begins to bellow,
"Oh! How this soothes me, the paradox that I live."

Raincoats and boots,
Umbrellas too.
Cars still bustling about,
Their tail lights blinking in and out.
Long drives in the rain, to places unknown.
The rushing of the wind and the rain,
Always calming and brings much gain.

Rivers flowing to capacity,
Until April calls again.
Hope to find new boots,
Till the rain and wind and cold air meet us again,
Thank you for the memories and a chance, from overspending, we refrain,
To braais and peppermint tarts we toast,
Until we can do it all over next year.

Hope to find new boots,Till the rain and wind and cold air meet us again,Thank you for the memories and a chance, from overspending, we refrain,To braais and peppermint tarts we toast,Until we can do it all over next year
