Hold on

"Hold on" they say, with a hint of despair,
In a relationship that's crumbling, beyond repair.
But how do you "hold on" to someone slipping away?
How do you "hold on" when there's nothing left to say?

In this shattered symphony of hearts, hope starts to fade,
As we grasp onto fragments, a love that's frayed.
Their love once fiery, now smoldering ash,
We try to "hold on" as the embers turn to flash.

In desperation, we cling,
"Hold on" we say,
begging them to stay,
But they're already gone,
their love's gone astray.
We "hold on" to memories
like shards of broken glass,
Cuts our tender hearts,
yet we clutch them in our grasp.
