There is a story I should've told in the last part but didn't get a chance to. It seems fitting that I tell you now.

In English class, at one point, Stephen and I sat next to each other. On the other side of him sat a girl named Jessica. She was a bit... well, weird for lack of a better word. And she would constantly chat up Stephen. I could tell from a mile away she had a crush on him.

One day, Stephen and I walk to English together from our now shared biology class. I have a headphone in and am listening to my iPod while we talk. We get to our desks, I put my stuff down. I look at him and tell him "I need to use the restroom, can you watch my iPod?" and he agrees. I leave my iPod on my desk and head to the bathroom.

When I come back, my iPod is gone.

Stephen had his back turned to me and was talking to Jessica. I sat in my seat and tapped his shoulder. "Haha, funny. Where's my iPod?" His eyes widened, in fear maybe? He had one job, watch my iPod. My heart sank as I took in the look on his face. "Stephen, where is my iPod?"

When it became clear he didn't have it, I went to Ms. Waldo and she made everyone empty their backpacks. When we couldn't find it, she looked at me apologetically. "Sorry Brittany, that's all I could do." I managed to sit through the class, thinking about how pissed my mom would be when I got home to tell her the bad news.

Even though he had let me down, I still began walking with Stephen to my sixth period class. That's when the most awkward and quiet kid in our class, Eric, came up to us, handed me my iPod, and ran off. Stephen and I stood there in shock. "I have never seen a fat guy run so fast." Stephen said. Once I came out of my shock, we agreed to go tell Ms. Waldo.

Eric was suspended for a week.

I continued to trust Stephen.
