Author's note: I'm so excited for Christmas it's not even funny.
All I wanna write is cosy cute little things about characters in the winter :')——————
Bucky's fingers were almost frozen as he put up the last of the flyers. He shoved his hands into his pockets as he started to walk.
Alpine had gone missing last night, and she hadn't come back yet. Bucky was beyond worried. It was almost Christmas Eve, and it had been snowing for days. He hoped someone would see the flyers and keep an out for her, but it was hard to stay optimistic. Alpine was a white cat, gone missing in the snow.
After another hour of searching, he felt frigid and frozen to his core. With still no luck, he decided to head home.

He threw a blanket over his legs, bringing his mug of hot chocolate to his lips. He wished Alpine was with him.His phone began ringing, and he leapt to answer it, spilling his drink all over himself. Annoyed by this, but too eager to answer the phone, he put his mug down and scrambled to pick up the call.
It was Steve calling, and Bucky answered as fast as he could.
"Hello?" He said, standing up.
"Hey, Buck," Steve's voice on the other end replied.
"Any news?" Bucky asked eagerly. He had his fingers crossed that Steve had heard something about Alpine's whereabouts. There was a pause. The suspense was killing him.
"Actually," Steve said, his voice a little crackly. "I have. One of my friends, Sam, said he might've seen a white cat near his house. He only lives about fifteen minutes from you."
Bucky's heart skipped a beat. "Really? That's great, give me the address."Steve exhaled.
"Let's hope she's there. I'll send you the details in a moment." He said, and hung up the call.
Bucky jumped up, forgetting about his hot chocolate covered clothes. It didn't matter. All that mattered was finding Alpine.❅ · ❅ ❅• ❆ ·
. . • * *· * * ❅ .❆The snow was too fierce to drive, and it was already getting dark. Bucky decided his best bet would be to walk, since this guy's house wasn't far.
Bucky didn't know what he would do if he didn't find Alpine. It was a bit of a trek through the blizzard, the wind whipping at his ears, and snowflakes flying in his face. When he got to the street, he pulled his phone out of his pocket to check the house number.
Number 13.
He walked along, shivering, looking for the right house. Finally, after walking down the road, he found the house. It was too dark to see much about it, but Bucky thought it looked fairly nice. He hoped that this Sam guy was nice.
He walked up to the front door, and reached for the door knocker, which was in the shape of a lion's head. He rapped at the door, and stood back, shivering still. He burrowed his face into his scarf, trying to keep out the cold.
After a few moments, the door opened, and light flooded out onto the snow. Standing there was a man in a knitted green turtleneck.
"Um, Hello," he said, looking Bucky up and down.
"Hi," Bucky's teeth chattered as he responded.
The man stared at him for a moment, before his eyes lit up in recognition.
"Oh! You're Steve's friend, right?" He said. "Come in, your cat's in my living room." He ushered Bucky in.
Bucky's heart leapt, and he hurriedly stepped into the man's house.
