"Mom! Where are you?" Cassidy shouted and was met with the familiar voice of her mother replying in a sing-songy "In here!" Refuring to the living room. She was sprawled out on the couch reading emails on her phone with the Beatles "Abbey Road" record playing in the background.
Cassidy walked up behind the couch hugging her mother before sitting down next to her.
"Remind we where you were? Dear" Taylor asked "I know you told me this morning but I hadn't had my coffee yet"
"I was out meeting Gracie Abrams in Central Park, don't worry socially distanced"
"Who's Gracie Abrams? She's a new friend isn't she?" Cassidy's mother replied
"Yeah, she's from LA, she's like the sweetest girl ever" Cassidy described "she's a singer too, you'd like her, she's a fan of yours"
Taylor Smiled "Awe well I'll have to meet her soon, put on her songs" Cassidy paused the record her mom had been playing and played the handful of songs Gracie had out. "She has an EP coming out in a month" Cassidy explained
"Cass this is so pretty!" Taylor admitted after the last song "I know I'm obsessed with that last song Stay" Cassidy confessed
Taylor smiled getting up from the couch walking towards the kitchen "come on, let's go figure out dinner!" Cassidy followed close behind
The two had decided on ordering a pizza given they are in desperate need to order groceries.
"Can we eat in the tv room tonight and watch a movie?" Cassidy pleaded
"We've done that three times this week." Taylor retorted
"So?"
"Fine but I get to pick the movie" Cassidy's mother agreed
"Deal but please for the love of god can we not watch Greys"
Taylor gasped "WHY ARE YOU HATING ON GRAYS" Cassidy laughed "I'm not hating but i can't watch another episode for a very long time it's all we've been watching for the past two months" Taylor sarcastically shook her head laughing knowing her daughter was right
The two sat down to eat deciding to watch "the good place" but Cassidy hadn't looked up from her phone since she sat down, Taylor taking noticed asked "who are you texting?"
"Nobody just Gracie" Cassidy replied not looking up from her phone
"Tell Gracie you have to eat dinner and you'll talk to her later" Taylor said in a no bull shit way, Cassidy looked up nodded her head sending one last text and taking a bite from her food.
