Minor comes out today and I'm scared as shit. I barely slept last night and woke up earlier then most teenagers on summer vacation.
I was FaceTiming Cassidy until she fell asleep from the time difference then I FaceTimed my cousin and best friend Abby and Audrey until they fell asleep. I don't remember falling asleep myself but the moment I checked my phone and realize the EP dropped I ran downstairs to find my mom or dad or brothers or anyone I can't be alone with this. But turns out nobody in my house is awake giving it's barely 6 am on the weekend. I turn to my phone and call the first notification I see. It was Cassidy she texted me when she woke up "the records amazing my mom and I are obsessed"
"Hey popstar!" She answered almost immediately.
I laughed "hi sorry if your busy nobody else is awake"
"no please I was going to call you later can I FaceTime you though?" She asked
"Mhm" I mumbled making sure I don't look to wrecked from just waking up
The FaceTime connects showing Cassidy propping her phone up in her vanity doing her makeup. Gracie sitting on her bed.
"dude under/over is insane ur voice is amazing" she complimented brushing blush on her cheeks
"thanks I still can't believe it's real like what the fuck" I said
"you'd so cute I'm so happy for you"
I smiled "thanks"
Cassidy smiles back at me "hey I gotta go Lizzys family is doing brunch but I'll reach out later"
"okay bye have fun!" I say
Cassidy hung up the call and I was sitting there with butterflies in my stomach from a freaking FaceTime call what the fuck. But like seriously I miss her so much.
I hear someone in the kitchen so I get up to see what's going on. I find my mom putting the kettle on the stove to make tea.
"Hey sweetie" my mom says coming to hug me when she sees me come down the hall.
"Hey" I hug her back smiling
"So minor! It's out how ya feeling?" She asks
"I'm good I could barely sleep though and woke up pretty early but it's ok I called Cassidy" I say rummaging through the fridge to find a container of raspberries
"Awe I'm glad she was able to call- ya know I'd have to talk to your dad about this but what if she came to LA and stayed with us? Maybe in the fall? For your birthday?" My mom said that as if she wasn't dropping the best news ever. I run up and hug her again
"I know it's a big maybe but that would be so amazing mom!" I say jumping up
"What would be so amazing" my dad says walking into the kitchen hugging me good morning
"I was just suggesting that maybe miss Cassidy Swift comes down to stay with us for Gracie's birthday" my mom explains
"That's a great idea! You should invite her" my dad says. I'm shocked I thought it would be much harder to convince him.
I settle in with the news that Cassidy would probably be here in a few months but don't want to text her and disrupt her brunch. I call Abby to come over and we hangout for awhile before she has to go home for dinner. I'm eating dinner unable to contain my excitement to FaceTime Cassidy.
"Shut up we know you exited" my brother Henry teased after I brought Cassidy up for what was probably the 5th time. I was close with my brothers don't get me wrong but we still don't hesitate to make fun of each other.
"Sorry I'm just so exited" I say taking a bite of my dinner smiling at my mom. I eat quickly, go up to my room, shower and get ready for bed to I could FaceTime Cassidy.
FaceTiming has become a daily occurrence for us. Every night I will get ready for bed and call her until it gets so late on the east coast she falls asleep on the call.
"Hey!" Cassidy answered they call
"Hi guess what?" I said nearly jumping up and down
"What?"
"My parents said you could come stay with us in LA in September for my birthday!"
"Shut up oh my god!" She says smiling standing up and walking out of her room.
"Where are u going?" I ask laughing
"To ask my mom if I can go. She'll hop let me take the plane" she explains "hey mom?" I couldn't hear her moms response but I'm sure she said something "can I go stay with Gracie in September her family invited me... OH MY GOSH THANKS SO MUCH" I couldn't hear what her mother said but I could make a pretty good guess by Cassidy's response
"I would pack Tomorrow if I could" Cassidy said sitting back down on her bed
"Ugh I wish" I laugh, we talk and talk for hours. It's 11 for me so it's definitely late for her. Cassidy's falling asleep her responses are becoming more and more tired "goodnight cass" I say
"You called me cass" she yawns
"Doesn't everyone?" I ask unsure if it was a family nickname suddenly worried I crossed a line
"I mean yea- you never have though"
"Sorry I didn—"
She cut me off "Nono I like it" she smiles and after that it seems she fell asleep. I smile internally giggling and kicking my feet. Before falling asleep as well.
