Ruby took in a deep breath to calm herself down. When she came to Beacon she expected to be put on a team of strangers with boys and girls her age, and while she was grateful that the Headmaster recognized her talent, she couldn't help but wish that he would've let her start as a year one. She wasn't someone who strived to be a team leader, especially to people two years her senior. Yet, when she opened her eyes and saw her team, she figured she could carry the weight of being their leader.

Weiss: "Hey, Ruby..."

Ruby: "Hm?" The team leader turned to her teammate. A young heiress with hair as white as snow. Her dress was a pale blue and had no sleeves and a deep blue shrug with a raised collar. At first, her teammate was cold to her, and Ruby didn't blame her, since Ruby had just joined the team earlier this year and was appointed her leader.

Weiss: "Listen... I know I haven't exactly been the kindest person, but I want you to know that this means a lot to me." Weiss couldn't help but look away as she admitted this, which caused a soft smile on Ruby's face.

Ruby and her team had found themselves in a large warehouse owned by Weiss' family. The Schnee family was incredibly well known throughout the entirety of Remnant, most notably for their production of Dust, a material that's used in every aspect of their lives, so when word had gotten out that this certain warehouse would be raided, Weiss took it upon herself, as the Heiress of the company, to handle this issue. An issue that she asked her team to help with.

Ruby: "You don't need to worry about it, Princess. You're my teammate, so I would've helped anyway." She tried to reassure Weiss, but that only caused the Heiress to groan and roll her eyes.

Weiss: "How many times do I have to tell you to stop using that nickname? It's unflattering coming from someone like you." The pale girl scoffed and spun around dramatically, returning to her former position, but not before giving a small smile behind Ruby's back.

Ruby let out a sigh as she watched Weiss walk away, and couldn't help but feel like she had messed up once again.

As Ruby thought about her standing with the Heiress, her eyes drifted off to a dark corner where she could see her other teammate waiting, book in hand. Her name was Blake Belladonna, the aloof bookworm of her group. She was dressed in a purple, nearly black, catsuit that even came with its own boots. Over the catsuit, she had a white coat and wore a ribbon on her head to disguise her Faunus nature.

Ruby had tried to get closer to Blake in these past months, but Blake wasn't the kind of person Ruby could hold a conversation with. If she could even get one started in the first place. The only thing Ruby managed to get out of her was her nature as a Faunus, and that was only because of Yang.

The thought of her sister made Ruby turn to the blonde. The blonde noticed Ruby's gaze and smiled, waving over to her sister before making her way over.

Yang: "How you holding up, Rubes? You look anxious about all this." She asked, placing a hand on her hip and tilting her head.

Yang wore beige overalls with a white shirt underneath and one of the pant legs unzipped. Her collarbone was covered by an orange scarf, and she also wore an aviator jacket to help protect her shoulders from the cold.

Ruby: "You worry too much, Yang. I'm perfectly fine." Ruby lied to her half-sister, giving Yang her best fake smile. Yang was overprotective and doting, and while Ruby was appreciative of all Yang had done, it came across as a bit overbearing for her.

The lie couldn't fool Yang, however. She had been Ruby's big sister for her entire life and knew all of Ruby's tells. Ruby couldn't look the person in the face when she lied, she always cringed because she felt it was wrong, and Ruby would always sway back and forth or step backward.
