014.    the gates of avalon

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

TEDDY WENT TO BED THAT NIGHT WORRIED. She couldn't get even a moments rest, her mind kept drifting off to Morgana and how her dreams came true. Morgana Le Fay was a bloody seer. And that's what worried her, the fact the King's ward was a seer and if he found out, it would be nasty.

Sunlight had started to peak through her window, and that was he cue to get out of bed. She had a million things to do today and that's without trying to find out what the Tir-Mors were up to.

The empath had began to make a couple of tonics for Gaius' and her patients, before she moved onto trying to find a book for a particular medicine. Whilst she looked for the certain herb she required, Gaius had woken up.

"You're up early, Teddy," The old man yawned as he walked over to sit besides her. "You didn't get any sleep, did you?"

Teddy shook her head, "No."

Gaius only sighed before he looked at the table and noticed that his apprentice had done half of the jobs that he needed to do that day. He was about to thank her but before he could, Merlin burst through the doors.

The young warlock had began to explain to them both about what Aulfric wanted with Arthur. He had followed the man to a lake and started to decribe what he saw and Teddy and Gaius couldn't believe it.

"Avalon! What you saw at the lake, it's Avalon!" Teddy let out a surprise chuckle.

"What's-"

"The land of eternal youth," Answered Gaius. "Mortals are only supposed to glimpse it the moment before death."

"Well, I've seen it and I'm still here."

"Extraordinary," Gaius said in awe. "What did it look like?"

"Does it matter? They're going to sacrifice Arthur, and we don't even know who they are yet." Merlin said, anxiously.

Teddy turned to the book in front of her, "We do now. Gaius found writing like this," She scrambled to open the book on the right page. "on the top of Alfuric's staff. It's Ogham - an ancient script. Abas ocus bithe. Dutchectad bithlane." She read out.

"'To hold life and death in your hands,'" Gaius translated for Merlin. "From the writing on his staff and what you saw at the lake, I'm afraid I'm not certain. We're dealing with the Sidhe."

"That does not sound like a good thing." Merlin muttered.

"It's not," Teddy shook her head. "They're masters of enchantment."

"You think Arthur's been enchanted?"

Gaius and Teddy both nodded, "Almost certainly," Gaius confirmed. "I'm afraid Morgana's dream is coming true."
