Chapter 2 - Victory

//Levy's P.O.V.//
After the long fight for my best friend, Lucy Heartfilia, I found that victory did not come by itself. It had come in a package-a package that included having Gajeel join our guild. Gajeel Redfox, new member of Fairy Tail, former member of Phantom Lord. He was the one who had attacked me and Team Shadow Gear, and I didn't know if I could trust him. After all, he was the reason I was going to have a limp for a few more days, maybe even weeks!

Annoyed by the fact that he was now a Fairy, and the fact that he would ruin our reputation, Team Shadow Gear set out to see him at the very tree we were attacked at. He was standing there, red eyes glowing like they were when he attacked us. I shivered and stepped back to the tree, watching as my trusty teammates inquired Gajeel of why he joined the guild that he, along with Phantom Lord, tried to destroy. I immediately thought of the pain I felt when he had pounded the stamp into my stomach. He was a monster, was he not? Do we hold a grudge against him, he asks. Jet scoffs and I thought Droy was about to say something, but I stepped in instead.

"I'm already over that." I told him, but Gajeel doesn't look so convinced, considering the fact that Jet and Droy were glaring at him.

This is our limit, Jet says, you will ruin our guild's reputation for sure, Droy says. I couldn't help but agree in my mind. Suddenly, a fight unfolded, and it did so pretty quickly. Jet used High Speed to dash towards an open Gajeel, saying that he won't be acting so casual for too long, and punched him.

"Plant Magic: Knuckle Plant!"

Droy attacked the man, and I am surprised, not expecting Gajeel to receive the attacks and not fight back at all. Jet used Falcon Heavenward to push Gajeel back.

"What are you up to?" Jet then asked.

That can't be it for his power, he says. I knew that it was true, considering his heavy fight with Natsu during Phantom Lord's fight with our guild. Suddenly, I saw a very bright, yellow, electrifying man walk towards us. Laxus Dreyar, Master Makarov's grandson. I watched as he interupted the fight and hit Gajeel with a strong lightning bolt, saying that it was his fault that the guild was looked down upon. He told him that he heard some things in bars here and there that pissed him off. Laxus punched the ground and lightning emerged from it, cracked the ground and blew Gajeel away. I felt my heart throb as I saw Gajeel's pained face. I didn't know why I was feeling bad for an enemy, but I was, and it hurt. A lot.

I watched as Jet told Laxus to stop because he was going too far. Gajeel collapsed on the ground from the blast of Laxus's magic, and I realized that he wanted to be recognized as an ally. Even if he had a fist of iron, he didn't have a heart of iron after all, I thought. Laxus kicked Gajeel, and told him that he was the reason why Fairy Tail was being made fun of and that he would kill anyone who went against the guild. Again, Jet told him to stop, and this irritated Laxus. He ordered us to shut up and sent a lightning bolt my way, and I couldn't help but let out a small gasp and covered my face with my hands to get ready for the impact. When I didn't feel the expected pain course throughout my body, I peeked through my fingers and found Gajeel standing over me, his arm turned into an iron rod, taking the hit for me. I saw everyone's faces, and I knew. I knew everyone was surprised. Gajeel was steaming from Laxus's electricity, and started walking away.

"Are you satisfied? Because I still have a job to do."

He wobbles away, and I feel a warm feeling spread throughout my heart.

"Wait, Gajeel!"

Leave me alone, he tells me. Yup, it was definite. Victory had come in a package. But something had changed. Something told me the package was a good one. Victory had come, with a possible friend for the future.
