Grace :

"Grace? I called you twi-" Kai's words sliced through the air, abruptly halting as I found myself stupidly locked in Adrik's gaze. Panic seized me as I glanced towards Kai, his expression a mix of disbelief and betrayal, mirroring my own inner turbulence. I struggled to find my voice, my throat tightening with the weight of the situation, but before I could utter a single word, Adrik's grip on my waist tightened, trapping me in his embrace.

Fury and desperation surged within me. "Fucking leave me, Adrik," I pleaded silently, the intensity of my gaze begging him to release me from this humiliating situation.

Kai's voice, dark and foreboding, pierced the tension. "Leave my sister," he commanded, his eyes locked on Adrik with a fierce determination.

But Adrik remained unmoved, his demeanour infuriatingly casual. "No," he retorted, his gaze shifting between Kai and me, as if daring us to challenge him further.

That's literally the last thing I want right now.

My heart sank as I struggled to contain the mixture of emotions threatening to engulf me. "Adrik..." I started, my voice barely above a whisper, but my words fell on his deaf ears as he continued to regard me with fake innocence.

The urge to lash out at him, to make him understand the depth of my anguish, surged within me. "You guys are fucking? Well, Grace, shame on you," Kai's words cut through the air like a knife, each syllable dripping with malice as he turned away, leaving me to drown in a sea of shame and regret.

"No, Kai," I called out desperately, tears welling up in my eyes, pleading for him to understand, to see beyond the surface of this tangled mess.

But Adrik's gaze remained fixed on me, his expression unreadable as always. "Grace," he murmured softly, his voice tinged with a hint of remorse.

No, this wasn't how it was supposed to be. Kai wasn't supposed to see us like this. This was a nightmare, a cruel twist of fallacy that I couldn't escape from.

" Distract me," I whispered in almost an inaudible voice, averting my gaze towards Adrik.

" If that's what you want Luna then okay. Let's distract you," he said, as he left the entangled hold on my waist and went out of his office room.

As he disappeared from sight, I let out a shaky breath, feeling the weight of today's event pressing down on my shoulders. Slowly, I ran my fingers through my hair, gripping it tightly in an almost painful embrace. Because right now, amidst the chaos and confusion, that's what I craved – the sharp sting of hurt to momentarily drown out the overwhelming emotions threatening to consume me.

That's what I fucking need right now. I need it to hurt.

Adrik reentered the room, holding a toy in his hand. His vest, tie, and shirt were absent, leaving only his perfectly pressed black pants. My eyes instinctively drifted upwards, drawn to the sight of his tattooed, well-defined upper body.

I couldn't help but stare at his broad shoulder, mesmerised by the complicated designs that adorned his skin, tracing the contours of his muscles with an almost hypnotic allure. Despite the chaos occurring around me, I found myself captivated by the raw power and intensity that radiated from him.

His presence was both comforting and comfortless, a reminder of the tangled web of emotions that had brought me to this moment. But for now, as I watched him standing there, toy in hand, I allowed myself to be drawn into the silent sanctuary of his presence, seeking refuge from the storm raging within.

" W- what's that?" I slowly asked him, hesitantly pointing towards the toy.

" Distraction," he murmured, his voice low and husky as he took delicate and alluring steps towards me.
