 "How did I get into this mess? Especially now? Didn't I just get out of my first mess with Basio, and the gondolier assassins?" I asked sighing, and now questions were coming up as I thought back to what the scrying had shown me "What in the world of heaven hell, and every world in between would make me and Judas come here, and even more what spell could be done that would make me forget everything for days at a time? Last I checked I was able to figure out what spell was on me my necklace would...wait" I reached out to my chest and I realized I didn't have my necklace, then my mind went back to the argument with my sister Kali and I realized where it went

"Caleb you still not getting it? I thought you were smart enough to figure this out, it wasn't a spell" That was when I blinked and looked at the reflection of the puddles on the floor and saw..what was my familiar name? Nox that's right he was captured in the bottom of the cavern of my temple in the waterfall. I sighed and listened as I climbed out of the small oval tunnel and it took me into a large dungeon made of silver walls, torches of blue fire and black metal gates and doors, more mirrors, and a gaping hole in the ceiling with a black metal gate blocking it. I sighed as I continued walking forward and said "if it's not a spell then tell me what I'm missing" I heard a large sigh and it said "I'm not able to tell you what it is you have to figure out think you get this feeling as soon as you get food...as soon as you sleep....after your fall unconscious, didn't you do a scry before you baited them?" and I nodded "I did according to the vision Judas and I came here of our own free will we walked in and started talking with the lady of the house..and we...we ate...so you think she.." and my wolf familiar was getting excited. "You wouldn't get into this if it was spelled even if you dont have your necklace, that would mean..." and my eyes widened. "She drugged me...the food..the drink..it was good for a reason she baited me like I baiting her" and the wolf growled. "Watch out Caleb if it's not clear now it's not gonna be any more clear what her intention is.." s I started to walk forward the door the large hole in the ceiling opened up and a large mass of black fur, fire, and white feathered wings dropped onto the ground in front of blocking the area and when it landed in front me, I was shocked it was a sphinx the massive winged beast from greek and Egyptian mythology A sphinx is a mythical creature with the head of a human, the body of a lion, and the wings of an eagle.

In Greek tradition, the sphinx is a treacherous and merciless being with the head of a woman, the haunches of a lion, and the wings of a bird. According to Greek myth, she challenges those who encounter her to answer a riddle and kills and eats them when they fail to do so. This deadly version of a sphinx appears in the myth and drama of Oedipus

In Egyptian mythology, in contrast, the sphinx is typically depicted as a man and was seen as a benevolent representation of strength and ferocity, usually of a pharaoh. Unlike Greek or Levantine/Mesopotamian ones, Egyptian sphinxes were not winged.

"Summon me Caleb" I heard the voice call me that's when I took a deep the sphinx smacked me and sent me into the wall narrowly dodging the mirror I cried out as my shoulders back and slammed impacted against the wall and I slipped down and landed on the floor and growled before getting back up and this time I wasn't going to hold back I pointed my hand at the creature and cried out "ERIF!!" and suddenly a large beam of fire escaped my hand slammed into the sphinx causing it to dodge to the side and it leaped at me again and again swiped and this time sent me flying to the floor of the dungeon, my mouth tasted nothing but solid ground. I got up and growled back at it before I started to run forward at it and before I swung my knives at it once more swiped at me and sent me flying to the wall again selena and judas would not like the idea of being attacked three times in a row and caught as many times. It growled at me and looked at me, tail swishing it was black-furred, white-winged, haired girl headed it just looked at me then said "Young master this is too easy so far, so let's play a game I'll tell you a riddle and if you win I'll let you pass" and I growled of course the M.O of the sphinx the riddle;

Next, I wiped the from both my arms and the blood created solid weaponry both weapons long swords. The Sphinx looked at me and backed up and I growled back. "You want to play a dangerous game we'll play a dangerous game but mind you if I fail and you come at me I'm not holding back" It growled and was silent as it looked like it was gonna hesitate and blinked slowly and nodded. "Very well young master...the riddle is "What goes on four feet in the morning, two feet in midday, and three feet in the evening?" I thought it over, I was not good at riddles Selena and Kali were the thinkers I was the brawn. I sighed and thought back what would Selena think or do? What would Kali think or do?" I thought back and Nox was getting ansty to fight and I kept growling and glaring at the sphinx as it would occasionally pace around us finally I said. "Umm....man?" and I winced because I was guessing any other animal that shifted in limbs and nothing came to mind the Sphinx just glared at me and I pointed my swords at it and it growled at me and then she started to chuckle. "Yes...well done for now..but what about my second riddle?" I palmed my face and Nox was about to pounce when I put my hands out. "Hold on Nox, let's see what we can do before fighting it" Nox nodded and the creature paced and then sighed. "You weren't supposed to get this far young master..but here's the second...."There are two sisters: one gives birth to the other and she, in turn, gives birth to the first. Who are the two sisters?" oh Fuck I was lucky on the first one.." think back Caleb..think..think....I thought back to sisters my sisters one was bright the other dark...Selena was a dhampir and Kali was from Egypt.." Nox growled at her and looked at me "Master shes statting to get antsy" and I nodded. "Is it...day and Night?" and Nox looked down at me. "Master that's probably not right..you basing a battle on that?" and I nodded. I'm trying... I sighed and held onto the swords I summoned, realizing I was leaking sticky blood down my arm and the sphinx growled and said. "Oh...well done master...I see you you have some brains..you may pass" and the sphinx leaped into the air and floated back into the top hole of the ceiling... I blinked and looked at Nox and it looked at me and growled. 'That was risky Master Caleb...you play a dangerous game...let me know if you need me again" and I nodded before putting the top two fingers to my forehead and swiping to the side. "I dismiss you blessed to be" and Nox vanished into shadows I then started to walk over to the door and opened it to a group of doors three on each side and at the end of all of them was the lady of the house..
