I wonder why everyone was chasing me down like I was some alien that they wanted to use for a lab experiment.

The paparazzi flashed their cameras in front of my three-year-old eyes as I was walking hand-in-hand with my mom.

I guess I'll start this from the start...

My name is Astrid Layts, Ray for short. I was born to a famous mother who was known to 'rock this world' with her music. I don't get it either.

I was walking with my mom while being completely surrounded by paparazzi asking me if they could marry my mother and asking me for pictures. They didn't need to ask me for pictures if they were going to flash that camera of theirs in my face anyway.

I liked the attention, I mean, I was three after all.

I had my mother's lavender hair and my father's violet eyes. Yes, violet eyes. I've heard it's quite rare to find a living creature with such a trait. Do I fawned over because I have violet eyes?

My mother doesn't really prefer my eyes though. She usually says, 'oh the pain I feel when I look into those wretched eyes. Your eyes looks exactly like your father's, I hate it.'

I'm not sure what my mother and father had or fought or what got them to separate in the first place but, I won't really bother with it.

"Mommy, why is everyone looking at Astrid?" I spoke, looking up towards my mother, holding my sippy cup in my hands. I used to refer to myself with my name, not with 'me' or 'myself.' It's a bit stupid in my opinion. I wasn't just stupid though, I was beyond that.

"They love you, honey. They adore you. Just have fun" she replied, waving her hands in the air while wearing her fake smile. I might've been stupid but even an alien from another universe could see that her smile was completely fake and that she was trying too hard.

I listened to her words and went along with her act. I used my fake adorable-ness to awe the paparazzi people. It was amusing to see their faces completely astonished.

My mother and I had just went out for a quick meal from a near-by cafe and here we are, being surrounded by what seems like thousands of fans of my mother. One of them even yelled from the back if they could marry me.

My mind was trying to process those words. I was a stupid genius with a good amount of knowledge, at the age of three, I suppose. As I realized what those words meant, my face tried it's best not to completely fall to the ground laughing.

I was only three, I couldn't marry, obviously. I mean, who does? Only complete idiots. (author: no hate meant to anyone!)

I sighed and pulled my mom away from all the attention. It looked like she was really enjoying all that attention. Hmm... how do I say this? She was a bit... self-centered? Sorry, not sorry, mom.

I dragged my mother back home. Yes, I, the three-year-old daughter, was dragging my mother, the twenty-six-year-old.
I sighed. My mother was incredibly irresponsible. We had maids for mostly did everything.

My mother also barley ever spent any time with me. I got used to it and eventually started finding an interest in books. I loved those magical stories with princesses and fairies and kings and unicorns. I sometimes wish all of it was real.

I could get myself a unicorn sister then!

My mother isn't the best mother. But she does what she does (which, she does absolutely nothing). And I do what I do. That's how we kept the house running and going. It's a daily cycle as you may call it.
