refusal with a cause
a moment to breathe
single word we spoke
missions we have lost
systems slowly failing
mothers with no womb
darling creatures kept beneath
a sentence of staying
bridges with no frame
lovers wrapped around
wishes of happiness
the men she trusts
weather vanes with no west
sugar cane rotting teeth
boys with loverboys
dogs in a warroom
my favourite things
left to be nothing
ghosts in my closet
a girl in a locket
fear when she sleeps
hearts stuck between
two choices of poison
borrowed from their mother
monsters we became
to thwart our lungs
oxygen depluting
arrows to the head
words unsaid
things you'll never know
rivals of entertainment
girls all alone
the dark of the night
soft glow in his cheeks
hands clasped in prayers
slow progression of feeling
beating drums to manhatten
politicians denied
brothers with their fists
ready to fight
almost enough
for you and only you
my sleepless weakness
with strong perfume
i've lost all notion
hearts colliding
wrecks all along the road
where did you go
acceptance with doubt
our lungs of water
the phrase we'll ever say
we won our war
