8. Scarlet Labyrinth

Zira and Yuki were at the gun shooting area. Zira was shooting her targets while Yuki was watching at the same time covering her ears.

The brown-haired girl was in deep thought and thinking what Kaname said last night when the two of them were alone.

-Flashback-

Yuki was doing her patrol when suddenly Kaname approached to her. Yuki asked why Kaname was here and not at class or his followers.

Kaname explained that he wanted some time off with them and wanted to see her. Hearing this, Yuki blushed a bit. Then Kaname asked Yuki how Zira was doing. The girl couldn't help but give a sad expression.

Now that Yuki learnt that Kaname is a pureblood... a pureblood that killed Zira's family.... She couldn't help but feel scared around him.

Then Kaname came closer to Yuki and hugged the girl. This made her surprised and blushed. He then spoke up.

Kaname: "When did this happen to us? I hope what you're trying to protect doesn't hurt you in between."

-Flashback end-

"Yuki." Said Zira, as she snapped her from daydreaming.

Zira: "How long are you going to stand there?"

Yuki: "Well, I'm worried about you.... I wanted to know if you're really, okay?"

Zira: ".... It's not easy. Being my babysitter, huh?"

Zira laughed while Yuki pouted.

Yuki: "Come on Zira! Are you okay!?"

Zira chuckled and patted her head.

Zira: "I'm fine Yuki, trust me."

She puts the gun away.

Zira: "Right now.... I'm more focused in finding Shizuka and whether or not if my twin brother is still alive...."

Yuki: "...."

Zira: "Come now. Let's head back, shall we."

Yuki: "Alright."

Later, Yuki enters the living room and lays on the sofa.

Yuki: (I know it more than anyone else.... Kaname.... You mean the whole world to me... and yet, what I did to you was...)

Just then, a heartbeat sound was heard, and a chilling voice spoke up.

"Will you commit betrayal?"

"Just cover your eyes...? Pretending you knew nothing."

The voice kept taunting her as she gets up.

Yuki: (B-but... but I...)

She then covers her ears and closes her eyes. 

"I'm scared...."

 "Scary vampire.... Will eat me!"

That child voice.... Was the same voice she heard as a child.

"Innocence is a sin...."

"Turn your eyes from the truth."

"Scared... I'm scared."

"Not realizing how foolish you are..."

"Scared...."
