-This shit couldn't just die down... FFS, I'm back, yes, hello. Most likely only for a chapter or two.
-As you can see from the title, yes, it is that. Been like... 2 years since that comment.
-Slightly Spicy Stuff(?)
-Note: Due to a bit of a block, a small part of this was assisted by AI, I assure you though that it's only for filler dialogue and such, thank you.
______________________________________________________________________Kiyotaka Ayanokouji sat in his usual spot in the back of the classroom, eyes half-lidded and expression unreadable as always. The Class D students buzzed with their typical noise, but his focus was elsewhere. It wasn't on the textbook lying open in front of him or on the teacher's monotonous lecture. Instead, he was recalling in his mind the recent string of encounters he'd been having with none other than Chie Hoshinomiya, the Class B's homeroom teacher.
Hoshinomiya was known for her flirtatious and carefree demeanor, always teasing students and even other teachers. Yet, behind that bubbly exterior was someone sharp and shrewd, capable of seeing through people's facades, at least most of the time. Ayanokouji, however, had always been an enigma even to her. That was, until a peculiar understanding had developed between them.
It had all started a few weeks ago, after a chance meeting in the teacher's lounge. Hoshinomiya had noticed Ayanokouji, sitting quietly and observing the teachers with his usual calculating gaze. Curious about the mysterious student, she had approached him, her usual flirty self.
"Well, if it isn't the quiet one from Class D. What are you up to, Ayanokouji-kun?" Chie-sensei, as her students called her, asked.
"Just taking a break," I had simply looked up at her, my face giving nothing away as I replied. I was expecting a cheeky or maybe an indecent remark from her in return to my reply, but instead...
"So, what's Class D's leader's plan this upcoming special exam, hm?~" It seems she made sure that she kept the word leader vague, most likely as a trap for however I may answer.
"The leader is quite anti-social, so most likely Hirata or Kushida will be the ones to take charge in this special exam, or so, that's the leader's plan."
She just giggled at my reply. Clearly, whether I was referring to myself or Horikita as the leaders, she'd never be able to confirm clearly as both of us were quite anti-social. Of course, I could've just said Horikita's name straight up, but knowing this lady, she'd just try to call me out and question me, so playing her game will be more productive.
The special exam that the school had introduced was unlike any other exam the students had faced before. It wasn't just a test of academic knowledge or physical prowess—it was a test of social skills... By that, it's most likely meant to be manipulation, and the ability to form and manage alliances under pressure. The exam, titled "Deception and Alliance," was designed to push the students to their limits, forcing them to navigate a complex web of social dynamics, hidden motives, and ever-shifting loyalties.
The exam required 5 representatives per class. Two classes will be paired up, and each of the classes 5 representatives will be paired up with he other classes' representatives. During the 1 week exam period, there'll be 3 tasks given per representative in a day, 2 of the tasks will be identical with their pair from the other class, while 1 would be a secret one that is an optional task. This secret task will vary from person to person, but what it ultimately leads to is the betrayal of the current partner.
If the 2 general tasks were not done within the day, then penalties will be served to the pair, whether one did it or not, it needs to be completed by pair. The secret task however holds no demerits, rather, only a merit. The temptation of a protection point and the expulsion of the other pair from the opposing class. Most people would take the opportunity of course... But that would only be if they didn't have their eyes on the bigger picture. If neither choose to betray the other by the end of the exam, and receive the most points for general task completion, both parties will receive a protection point each, 70-50-25 addition in class points for the top three pairs respectively, plus an undisclosed amount of personal points per person of the pair.
