The decision was made - Aya and Jayden, the reluctant duo, set out into the dimly lit mall, their mission clear: salvage those damn generator supplies. The tension between them was thicker than the darkness that surrounded them.
"She's a goddamn rookie, Q. I'm not risking my neck for her," Jayden grumbled to Q as they prepared to leave.
Q, with a reassuring nod, said, "Look, just get the supplies and come back. We'll be holding the fort here."
As they navigated the mall's darkened corridors, Aya couldn't shake the feeling that Jayden was just a step away from ditching her. The uneasy silence between them was only broken by the occasional creaking of the building, serving as a constant reminder of their vulnerable surroundings.Suddenly, a distant moan echoed through the mall, freezing them in their tracks. Aya's grip tightened on the makeshift weapon she held, and Jayden shot her a skeptical glance.
"See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. You better not slow me down," Jayden muttered, irritation evident in his voice.
Aya, undeterred, shot back, "I'm not planning on slowing anyone down, Jayden. Let's just find the damn switch and get back."
