✧Alara✧

I ran faster, trying to find out of the forest. I was shivering and so hungry. I couldn't take it anymore. It was dark, and the wind was blowing. I didn't  know where I should go. I had no idea what I should do. I needed to get out of here as fast as possible. After I walked for a while, I heard the sound of cars passing by and when I looked to my right I saw a road. Finally.

I was standing in the dark trying to stop a car. But everyone that passed by just looked at me startled. Probably because of the way I looked. I had no idea what I exactly looked like but from the looks I got I felt like I looked like I just escaped from an apocalypse.  Maybe I did. Whatever. I didn't really mind. I just wanted to go somewhere, where I could find food, a warm place and someone I knew. But I'm homeless. For now, at least. I couldn't do this anymore. I wanted to die. I didn't want to live anymore because there's no point in living. I decided to stand in the middle of the road hoping I would get hit by a car and just pass out until they would call the ambulance and then I'm not so homeless anymore. This doesn't make sense.

Hunger has its side effects.

As I stood in the middle of the road and waited for a car to appear, I heard a male voice yelling my name. It started to rain heavily and I let out a frustrated sigh.  "Alara, are you alright." he asked coming closer. He walked in my direction opening his arms to hug me. The tears I've held in for so long streamed down my face and I took small steps towards him.  "I'm so sorry I did this to you." he said quietly and I sobbed as I tried to say something but nothing came out. I stepped closer to him to hug him only to feel nothing. I opened my eyes and realized.. I'm hugging myself.

I looked around hoping he was here and that I was not just imagining it.

But.. he wasn't here.

I let out a sob and decided to walk down the road. I've already cried my eyes out. That was enough. But I couldn't bring myself to stop. I walked and walked and walked. Multiple cars already passed by but not a single one stopped. The rain slowly stopped and it got a bit light making the sky a bright blue. I think it was already a new day. All of a sudden I got really emotional and tears filled my eyes. I marched down the road and when I lifted my head I saw houses. Multiple houses. "Oh my god." I shrieked out in excitement.  A small smile appeared on my face and I ran very fast when I reached a beautiful house. It was decorated with lots of flowers.

I decided to ring the bell. If I didn't get help, I would have died. I waited for a few minutes and then an old lady opened the door, gasping in shock. "Oh my dear, what happened to you?" she asked in her high pitched voice. I smiled at her awkwardly. "I'm sorry for the disturbance, could you please help me? I got lost in the woods. Can I make a quick phone call?" I questioned tilting my head. "Yes of course darling, I'll get my phone wait a minute." she said and disappeared in her house for a few seconds and came back handing me her phone.  "Thank you." I mumbled as I took it and dialed Chescos number. I placed the phone on my ear it ringing for a few seconds.

"Hello who's this?" he groaned in a sleepy voice. "Chesco, hi it's me Alara. Could you please come pick me up." I mumbled feeling a lump in my throat. This felt so wrong. "Oh my- Alara this is you? Where are you, I'm coming right away. Send me the address." he said loudly and I hung up.  "Uhm could you send the address to this number please." I inquired the lady, her nodding in response..

He hugged me tightly and caresses my back with his palm. I pulled away from the hug, starting to feel uncomfortable. I thanked the lady and we left. As I sat in the car my stomach started to growl. Chesco looked at me and then silently proceeded to drive as he focused on the road.  After an hour and a half we arrived at my father's house, my hands started to shake uncontrollably. I felt my face heat up and my heart pounding.
