✧Thiago

As we finally reached our destination, I looked over to my right and found Lara asleep. She had a worried expression on her face as she gripped on my jacket that was wrapped around her tightly. It almost looked like she had an awful dream. I lifted her up and carried her inside. On the way to my room I spotted Alessandro and Marco standing in the middle of the hall, with an open mouth and widened eyes.

I ignored them and just made my way to the room as I walked past them. I opened the door and stepped in. The curtains were closed fully which made the room very dark. I placed her on my bed and covered her body with the blankets to keep her warm.

I placed my hand on her forehead to measure the temperature of her body. She had high fever. Still. Her cheeks have gotten rosy from the heat. I watched how her chest rose and fell as she breathed steadily. I walked into the bathroom and grabbed a cloth with a small bucket to fill with cold water. I sat on the side of the bed and wet the cloth as I carefully placed it on her forehead. I stroked her hair and admired her beauty.

She's so beautiful.

After a while I took the thermometer and measured her temperature. It was too high. All I could think about was to give her medicaments. There was no other way the fever could go away. "Lara, wake up love." I caressed her cheek as I softly tried to wake her up. Her eyes slowly fluttered open as she gazed at me tiredly. "You need to take some meds." I mumbled quietly.

She sat up, looking around the dark room as her eyes darted to mine once again. "Where are we?" she questioned furrowing her brows and I chuckled at her adorableness. "We're in my room, love." She only looked around confused and when she decided to lay back I quickly reached for her back. "Lara you really need to take the meds or it won't get any better." I whispered as I gently pulled her closer and she hummed in frustration. "I don't want to take any. Leave me alone."

As I pulled my hands away I got up from the bed, walking around the room as I dug my hands into my hair. "There's no other way than this. I have no other choice." I mumbled as I walked to the bed and picked her up. "Let me down you asshole." She managed to say weakly. I tightened my grip around her as she tried to get release from my hands. "You did this to yourself. Why are you refusing to take meds?" I questioned as I let go off her.

"I fucking hate you." she mumbled as she pushed me and closed her eyes. My hands hung awkwardly to my sides and I didn't know what to do. My back hit the wall. I remained silent. Before she spoke she pushed me once again. "I wish you loved me, dad." she whispered weakly looking down on the floor. I guess she was too tired and sick to realize that I was not her father.

"I wish you would've taken care of me when I was younger. Every time I got sick you punished me because you thought it was all an act. But I really needed you to take care of me like any other father would do if his daughter got ill." she mumbled with a shaky voice. She even started to sob and that's when I pulled her burning body into my arms holding her tightly. "I will take care of you, don't worry. I know that I would never be able to make up for the lacking love of your father, but it will be all right, I promise."

"Now we just need to do something really quick." I whispered as I stepped into the shower with her. "What are you doing." she mumbled tiredly but I pulled her into the shower with me. I took off my t-shirt and turned on the water. Goosebumps started to appear on her skin as I poured the cold water over her. She shivered and whined in pain. I'm sure it hurt because of the fever. The water wasn't even that cold, but the fever made it not bearable.

Tears started to run down her cheeks and she sobbed, her teeth chattering. As I tried to hug her she pushed me back making my back hit the wall. "I hate you, Thiago." she stuttered. She stepped out of the shower and desperately looked around for a towel.
