Hayden POV

I couldn't drop her off at her,
after insensitive begging for ice cream and not taking it.
She was out like a light bulb. she fell asleep a few minutes later, leaving me in a predicament.

Should I wake her up or carry her inside? She looked so peaceful, unlike the troublemaker she usually proven to be.

I sighed,
I decided to carry her inside. Her body was heavier than I anticipated, making the task a bit challenging.

As I opened the door, I noticed the boxes I needed to unpack, I just moved in.

I carefully placed her on the bed, and I couldn't help but stare at her face.

She mumbled in her sleep, and a little snore escaped her lips, making me chuckle.

It oddly brought a smile to my face.
However.

I slowly exhaled a deep breath and sluggishly dragged my exhausted body to the bathroom.

The hot water from the shower felt like a warm embrace, washing away the grime and stress of the day.

I savored the refreshing sensation of the soap lathering on my skin, cleansing away all my worries.

After drying off, I changed into a fresh set of clothes and headed to the kitchen.
She's definitely going to be hungry when she wakes up.

I couldn't help but curse under my breath as I stumbled over the countless boxes that cluttered the floor.

The very sight of them weighed heavily on my mind, reminding me of how much work lay ahead of me. I knew I needed to unpack and organize everything soon, but the thought of doing so felt overwhelming.

Before leaving the room, I took a final look at her sleeping form. Her face was serene, her breathing soft and rhythmic.

I gently closed the door behind me, trying my best not to make a sound that might disturb her peaceful slumber.

Sage POV

As I groaned, closing my eyes to shield them from the harsh sunlight, I felt a sudden touch on my arm.

My instincts kicked in, and I went into defense mode, ready to fight off any potential threat.

Despite my broken arm, I managed to pin the intruder down, determined to protect myself at all costs.

It was then that I noticed the black hoodie the intruder was wearing, adding an extra layer of mystery to the already tense situation.

I held his hands behind his back and one of my legs pining his neck down,
Finally I can try this move on someone. The stranger let out a blood-curdling scream as I tightened my grip on his hand. "Ouch! Sage, you're squeezing the life out of me," he yelled, clearly in pain.

I was startled and confused. "Who are you, and how do you know my name?" I asked, still holding onto his hand.

"It's Hayden," he groaned, struggling to breathe.

"Hayden, is that really you?" I asked, loosening my grip on him.

He coughed and gasped for air before sitting upright, panting heavily. "Who else would it be?" he said, his voice hoarse.

"I don't know, I thought it was an intruder," I admitted, feeling embarrassed.

"You thought it was an intruder, Sage? Seriously?" he complained, rubbing his hand.

"I said I'm sorry,"

"No you didn't,
You just sat there watching me suffer"
He stood up and Left still coughing.
