Amelia's POV:-

I stand alongside Chris and the others, trying to
gather my thoughts and my pounding heart.

I was confused when he invited me to join
him because I had never really engaged
with him before.

It dawned on me that not all the students at school are the same.

I seem to strike up a casual conversation with these guys.

I feel my heart quicken as I watch Ian approach our setting when Chris called him over.

I feel weird interfering with his private moment with Kia.

a perfect pair.

Chris says something, and I listen.

A compatible partner?

for tonight?

What is he talking about?

Fuck!

Now, those stunning ocean-blue eyes are broad with...

amusement?

My wide eyes, matching those beautiful ambers, suddenly register a realization.

It's not what he really means to say.

My heart races as I hear the sound ringing in my ears.

My hands are both chilly and hot at once.

I turned to face Chris, who appeared pleased with his recent statement.

I tried to hide my confusion and bewilderment.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Even though I was shivering inside, I asked in a calm voice.

Though I tried to ignore it, I could feel Ian's eyes on me.

"Amelia, you understand what I mean. You're good with it, right?"

Okay, I understand.

He was undoubtedly referring to me hooking up with the boy now hypnotically gazing at me.

Like hell, I'm not at all cool with it.

I grit my teeth as rage flares up on my face.

"Chris?" A chilly voice pierces through, glaring daggers at the boy in question, who glances back at him and raises an eyebrow in response, indicating to go on.

"Stop your bullshit." He says giving him a hard like granite look.

I forcefully place my glass down on the counter and give Ian a hard, icy gaze in return when he snaps his eyes at me.

"Bro. Be not a shitb--." When our icy gazes meet Chris's, he bites his lips and refrained from talking further.

The peer next to him recoils as she senses the tension building between the three of us.

"Okay, I'm sorry." He gives a defeated wave of his hands.
He gives me an uneasy smile.

"I apologize, Ami. I was just joking around. You know?" He chuckles uncomfortably, downing his drink all at once.

I calm myself by inhaling deeply. I give him a nod of the head.

Is it odd that I'm a little disappointed?

Ami, you're crazy.

Inwardly, I give a head shake.

"You really need to be kidding. Otherwise, after tonight, you would be a guy without balls." Ian remarks while he crosses his ankles and leans on the bar counter.
