"Dez, time to get up," I said, poking at her cheek.

"Five more minutes," she mumbled, digging her face back into her pillow.

Her muscular back looked extra defined this morning. How she squeezed her pillow with her strong arms, making her back muscles contract and tighten up, lines appearing. I bit my bottom lip, trying not to think of other ways to wake her up. But, there was one way I could. It was either going to end up with me in bed, pinned between the mattress and her, me screaming her name. Or she'll go along with this. Or dead. That's really the third option that I did not want to happen, but it was worth the risk.

My eyes flicked up to find the second pillow that was behind the one she normally uses. It was there for like decoration or if she dropped the first one on the floor. I reached over and grabbed it, removing it from behind her. She let out a soft groan as her head shifted slightly. Raising the pillow, I smacked her head with it. As soon as I pulled it off of her head, her hair was a mess. Running a hand through her blue locks, her amber eyes found mine, a dark look appearing.

"Oh fuck," I whispered.

"Oh fuck is right."

She reached up and grabbed my wrist, pulling me onto the bed. I fell onto my back, getting straddled by her. Her hand reached over and grabbed my pillow. With a loud thump, I was smacked with my own pillow before it was pulled off of my face.

"There. How does that feel to be your wake up call?" Odessa asked, a cheeky grin on her face.

I smirked, grabbing hers and hitting her across the face with it. She didn't move, but there was a thumping sound. A frustrated growl came from her throat as she pushed it away.

"Oh, you're gettin' it, princess," she said, smacking me once more, this time, against my body.

"Hey! Odessa!"

I pushed her off of me and we got on our knees, smacking each other back and forth before I jumped from the bed.

"Where ya goin', Y/N?" she snarled, jumping down from the bed, a playful predatory look in her eyes.

"Come and get me, Dez!" I said and ran into the kitchen.

Our place wasn't exactly the best for a pillow fight, but at least I got her out of bed and waking her up. She was a monster whenever she was tired. She charged into the kitchen and I was behind the couch. Like a gazelle, she leapt over it and I moved aside, dodging her attack. It left her open for me and I seized my chance. She snarled once the fabric of the pillowcase came into contact with her face once more.

"That's it," she said, grabbing the pillow and ripping it from my hands.

"Aye!"

"C'mere, princess," she lunged, her arms wrapping around my waist.

"Dez!"

She slung me over her shoulder and grabbed the pillows before entering the bedroom. She threw the pillows onto the bed before she slammed me onto the mattress. Her hands were right next to my head and her face was a few inches from mine.

"Why and the hell would ya do somethin' like that, Y/N? Pullin' a stunt to wake up your queen when she asked for five more minutes? Ya don't want your queen to be all grumpy now, do ya?"

"What if I want 'er all grumpy? She can teach me a lesson after she's had a long," I ran my fingernail down the lines of her muscles on her arm. "Rough day and when she's in need of takin' it out on someone."

The tip of her tongue protruded from her lips and licked at her lips, a dark smirk appearing on her face.

"Ya want to entertain that idea tonight, darlin'?" she said in a gruff voice.

"Maybe. As long as my queen is willin' to entertain it as well."

She smiled, a soft breath coming through her nostrils. Our foreheads touched one another's as she leaned into me, pressing a quick kiss to my lips.

"Good mornin' to ya, too, Y/N."

"Did I at least get ya awake?"

"Yes, ya did," she smiled. "Despite me hatin' it, I enjoyed it. Thank you."

"You're welcome," I said and kissed her once more.

She pulled her hands away from where they were on either side of my head. The pads of her fingers ran down my neck, across my chest, and to my stomach. With a soft, yet firm squeeze, her hands dug into flesh and her thumb rubbed circles against my night shirt. Without a second thought of remorse, her fingers started to tickle at my sides.

"Dez!" I pushed her away, trying to get her to stop.

"Too late," she said, continuing to tickle me.

My arms and legs flailed around in the air. She had to move aside to avoid getting kicked or smacked. Laughter filled the air, even if it was only mine. I could hear her smiling as she continued to tickle at my sides.

"D-Dez!" I wheezed out. "P-P-P-Please."

"What's the magic word, love?"

"F-F-Fuck you."

"Mhmmm, that ain't it. Think harder."

"KK-Kinda hard to ww-w-when I-I can't breathe!" I laughed.

"Alright, you win. For bein' so darn cute," she said and placed a kiss to my nose.

When she removed her hands, I took in deep breaths, wiping the tears from my eyes as she walked off. No way was she going to get off just like that. I snuck up behind her, immediately tickling her.

"FUCK!" she instantly collapsed to the floor.

Now it was her turn. Her laughter rang throughout the morning air. It was something I never really got to hear. Well, this laugh. Her true laugh. Not the triumphant laugh that was heard whenever she won against opponents in any scrap, in the Reckoning, or against raiders. It was a laugh only I get to hear.

"YY-Y-Y/N," she tried to breathe through her laughs.

"What's the magic word, Dez?"

"NNN-N-Not this," she tried to grab at my hands.

I removed them for a second, let her relax, and then went right back at it.

"Fuck," she breathed out.

I decided to stop and once she settled, I found myself kneeling before the most beautiful sight ever. Lo and behold, the best woman I could have ever said 'yes' and 'I do' to. The way the sun's rays cascaded down through the window made her face brighten up. The way her hair was down to its natural length and it curtained around her face, shaping those harsh, rigid angles of her jawline to be more defined and even softer at certain angles. And right when it couldn't get any better, when her eyes fluttered open, one of the rays of light ran across her face, across her eyes.

The amber color was already a beautiful one. If light hit it just right, it would glow. If she was angry, they looked like a raging fire that was swallowing either a building or an entire town whole. When she was sad, they looked dull and void of life. That once raging fire was reduced to dying embers or maybe even sparks of a dying fire. Or a fire that is trying to be reignited. But with the sun in her eyes, right now, they looked like the most beautiful color I have ever seen.

A mix of honey and golden. A golden honey glow. It made my heart beat against my rib cage loud to where I thought I was going to faint at this glorious sight. She sat up, leaning back on her arms as she tilted her head slightly. Some strands of hair came down and covered her eyes. Those gorgeous eyes of hers. I extended my hand out, pushing the strands aside as I finally found them once more. She was a sight to behold. A dream. What I just experienced felt like a dream.

"I love you," I whispered.

She smiled, leaning towards me to press a soft kiss to my lips.

"I love you, too," she whispered after she pulled away.
