many people want to know what love is
little do they know that it's not what they think;
it brings you fearlessness and courage,
it brings light and shines like the sun,
lighting up your skin
love makes everything fade away
whatever doesn't matter, it disappears.
it all sounds wonderful, right?
well,
it also treats your heart like a dog toy.
it paws at your heart,
then starts biting on it,
later to rip away the seams and
demolishing it.
love takes you down with a slap to the face.
it'll bring you to your knees
and you'll beg for forgiveness,
but forgiveness never comes.
redemption never comes.
you're always hurt.
those months you spent,
in love?
they drove that splinter
through your damaged heart.
you'll bleed to death,
waiting for it to come together again.
that's what love is.
a blissful demise.
