I've been able to attend lots of formula one weekends in my life, but this one felt more special.

Before I knew it we were already halfway through the race weekend. Thursday went smoothly with media duties. Especially the joint interview.

I have to give credit where credit is due, because we really did do better in the interview because of our secret 'meet up'. We couldn't stop laughing at each other and the video got so many views on their socials. It was even trending.

I don't know if the others felt it too, but there was a sense of excitement in the Ferrari garage. I couldn't stop smiling, as I walked around. I was experiencing the paddock in a whole new light, and I was really enjoying it.

Carlos and Charles performed really well in all 3 practices and now they were getting ready for qualifying. I got to see the car up close and given a tour of the garage. I even meet Isa, Carlos' girlfriend, which he was right, she is lovely.

Isa and I  were currently eating lunch in the cafeteria waiting for Carlos to finish a meeting and then he would join us. I couldn't help but scam the room, trying to find him.

"He's in a meeting too by the way."

Isa said with a cheeky smile on her face.

"I- what?"

She's caught me and I knew it.

"Charles."

She didn't even question herself. It's like she knew and was 100% backing herself with this answer.

"I see how he looks at you."

My head swiftly turned to her.

"He doesn't look at me like that."

"Trust me, I've seen how he looks at all the other girls and this time it's different. It's real."

I cringed at being reminded that he had a row of girls lined up.

I had completely forgotten that he had that part of his life, because we've been having so much fun together. It was like we were in our own bubble. Every morning we had breakfast together, then I'd wait for him after his race debriefings, so we could go to back to the hotel together from the paddock. I hadn't even bumped into my brother or father, here in the paddock, which was lovely. I was so consumed by Charles.

But was I making it all up in my head or did he feel like that too.

"I don't think so Isa, he's just not into me"

"Who's not into you?"

Carlos said and it scared the living shit out of me.

"Char-"

Isa tried to say but I cut her off.

"No one, absolutely no one. I will be forever alone and die alone"

I said whilst nervously laughing.

Carlos was just scarring at me like I was a maniac that escaped the psych ward.

"Well ok then, I didn't know we were sharing stuff like that today. Anyway..."

I mentally slapped my head and then also mentally slapped Isa, because now I've made the conversation awkward.

"I heard you and Charles have been spending a lot of time together. Which may I add might be the reason why he's been so happy and cheerful around the garage."

"Oh please not you too."

I dropped my head into my hands that rested on the table.

"Aha, so you were talking about Charles before."

Oh fuck, great. I just blew my cover.

"No- well- but. Just shut up."

I huffed.

"Charles and Lucia sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes a baby. In a baby carriage."

Carlos sang in a high pitched voice and then started to make kissing noises and he laughed.

Then Isa hit him.

"Ouch! What was that for?"

He asked a she rubbed the side of his arm.

"That's for acting like a literal child"

She said as he shook her head.

I just started laughing because of anything she was asking like his mother and I was definitely here for it.

"Well I'm not just going to sit here and get physically assaulted, so I best get back to the garage. After all I do have a race to win."

"Hmm I think that's very wise of you."

Isa said narrowing her eyes at him.

As Carlos slowly backed away from the table, I saw a cheeky smirk creeping on his face and I knew whatever he was about to say would drive me nuts.

"I'll see you at the podium Ms Leclerc!"

He said laughing as he ran out of the cafeteria.

"Carlos!"

Isa yelled but he had already gone.

"The Spaniard thinks he's a funny man, does he?"

I said trying to act angry, but failed as Isa and I couldn't help but laugh at him.
