Lucia

What was he doing here?

He didn't belong here? How did he? Why did he?

I was speechless. All I could see was that smug look on his face, and it was driving me mad.

I hadn't noticed that Rocco and the others had left to mingle with other guests; now, it was just Charles, Gaberial, and me.

"Long time no see, il mio tesoro."

"Don't you dare call me that."

I firmly said, looking directly into their eyes.

"Why so hostile? You do realise I am the reason you are here. Not because you're actually good at your job."

"Go back to hell, Gaberial."

He made my blood boil. He pissed off every nerve in my body, and I just wanted to make him hurt the way he made me hurt.

"Don't be ridiculous now, you're acting like a child."

He said this as he reached for my arm and tired to pull me close to him. I fought back, trying to pull my arm back. Because of all the commotion, people started to look at us.

"You're making a scene, Lucia."

"Get your hands off her now."

Charles's voice was low but powerful behind me as he snaked his hand around my waist and pulled me to his side. Gaberial was stunned at first, but that only lasted a second before he completely ignored him and turned his attention back to me.

"She not here with me, Lucia; you don't have to be mad anymore."

"God, you think that has any effect on me?"

I looked at him like he was such an idiot to think that I cared for him.

"You were dead to me the moment I saw you two together like that, and it only made me realize how blind I was throughout our whole relationship. Now please leave me the fuck alone for the rest of my life."

"You know I can't do that."

He mocked me. He fucking mocked me.

"Leave her alone, or you'll be barely able to walk out of this place."

Charles said coldly and his grip on my waist tightened.
