As Lucifer stood before Alyssa, his human disguise concealing his true identity, he struggled to find an explanation for his presence outside St. Agnes Church. With uncertainty gnawing at him, he decided to fabricate a simple excuse.

"I was just taken a run," he began, his voice carrying a forced casualness. "I usually do it early in the morning, but I went out a bit later than usual." He studied Alyssa intently, searching for any sign that she might believe his hastily crafted lie.

Alyssa regarded him with a curious expression, her eyes probing his face for any hint of deceit. There was a flicker of doubt in her gaze, but she seemed willing to accept his explanation, at least for the moment.

"Ah, I see," she replied, her tone polite yet guarded. As she turned to head back to her car

Before Alyssa could turn to leave, she heard Luke's voice calling out to her, stopping her in her tracks. Surprised, she turned to meet his gaze, curiosity flickering in her eyes as she waited to hear what he had to say.

"Wait," he called out, his voice carrying a hint of urgency. "Would you... Would you like to join me for some breakfast?"

Alyssa's eyebrows rose in surprise at the unexpected invitation.

"Sure, that sounds nice," she replied with a smile, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Where do you have in mind?"

Luke returned her smile, his expression tinged with a sense of relief. "There's a cozy cafe not to far from here," he explained. "I think you'll like it I usually stop by it once in a while."

With a nod of agreement, Alyssa fell into step beside him as they made their way towards the café, a sense of anticipation building within her.

As they walked towards the café, Alyssa found herself stealing glances at Luke, her gaze lingering on his features with a newfound appreciation. The events of their previous date had left her mind preoccupied, preventing her from truly admiring him up close. But now, as they walked together, she couldn't help but marvel at his handsome appearance, her eyes tracing the lines of his face and the contours of his form.

However, as Alyssa's gaze drifted over him, she couldn't shake the strange sensation that something was amiss. It was as if a shadow lingered just beneath the surface, a hint of something otherworldly that sent a shiver down her spine. She blinked, trying to dispel the fanciful notion, but the feeling persisted, nagging at the edges of her consciousness.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Alyssa moved closer to Luke, her curiosity piqued by a sudden impulse. "Have you heard anything from ray?" she asked, her voice steady despite the unease that gnawed at her.

At her question, she noticed a subtle change in Luke's demeanor, a tensing of his muscles that betrayed a hint of discomfort. His expression grew guarded, his eyes darting away from hers as if searching for a suitable response.

Alyssa's heart skipped a beat at his reaction, a sense of foreboding settling over her like a dark cloud.

As Alyssa's question hung in the air, Lucifer, disguised as Luke, felt a surge of unease ripple through him. He knew that Ray, or Remiel as he was known in Heaven, still roamed the mortal world, his angelic presence a palpable presence in the fabric of reality. Yet, despite this awareness, Lucifer had yet to make contact with him since.

He also couldn't ignore the turmoil brewing in Heaven, the echoes of the battle between the celestial forces and his horsemen reverberating through the ether.

Lucifer struggled to find the words to answer Alyssa's question. He knew that revealing the truth would only complicate matters further, yet he also couldn't bring himself to lie to her outright.

With a heavy sigh, Lucifer met Alyssa's gaze, his eyes filled with a mixture of uncertainty and resolve. "I... Haven't heard from him yet," he admitted reluctantly, choosing his words carefully. "But things are... Complicated right now. There's a lot going on, and am not sure what his intention are."

Alyssa nodded in understanding, though a flicker of concern danced in her eyes. She could sense the tension in his voice

As Alyssa and Luke stepped into the café, they were greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly cooked breakfast, the scent of sizzling bacon and brewing coffee enveloping them in a warm embrace. The air was alive with the sound of chatter and laughter, mingling with the clatter of kitchen utensils as busy cooks worked their magic behind the scenes.

Despite the bustling atmosphere, Alyssa and Luke quickly found a seat, their minds still reeling from the tension of their earlier conversation.

As they settled into their seats, Luke took a moment to break the tension that lingered between them, his gaze softening as he turned to Alyssa with a gentle smile.

"So, alyssa," he began, his voice warm and inviting. "What brings you to a church so early in the morning anyway? If you don't mind me asking."

Alyssa's lips curved into a thoughtful smile as she met Luke's gaze, grateful for the opportunity to share a bit of herself with him. "Oh, it nothing dramatic," she replied, her tone light and casual. "I just needed a moment to clear my head and reconnect with some memories from my past.st.agnes church holds a lot of sentimental value for me since that's were my parents met and got married.

Luke nodded understandingly, his eyes filled with genuine interest as he listened to her explanation. "I see," he said, his tone warm with empathy.

"Did you have a church before you became an atheist or were you ever one?" Alyssa asked, her voice soft yet curious, her eyes searching his face

Luke hesitated, As he searched for a suitable response, Luke felt a surge of defiance rise within him "no, I never had a church," he admitted finally, his tone tinged with a hint of defiance. "I've never been much of a believer in religion.

Alyssa nodded in understanding, her expression thoughtful as she considered his words. "That's ok!," she said gently, her voice filled with empathy.

As the both settled in quietly a waiter approach them as they quickly ordered.
