Xie Yun smiled, looking her childish expressions and actions, "Do you want to try the local food?"

Bai Yue's eyes lit up with excitement as she nodded in approval.

Xie Yun simply made an 'OK' gesture.

Bai Yue spoke, "So, sister Yun, how about things other than petroleum and petroleum products?"

Xie Yun replied while focusing on driving, "In addition to these, I have also bought many types of baking essentials, grains, dried fruits, dried edibles, pickles, milk powder for adults as well as for children, oils, sauces, cheese, butter, canned food, clothes of all seasons that I could find, advanced electrical appliances, oh, I have also bought quite a few generators of almost all the types, and then, um, right, beddings, I have also bought beddings, kitchen appliances, and other miscellaneous items that you can see later. I just bought the things which would not spoil until the time you came, and left the things like fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy products and cooked food for the time when you come here."

Bai Yue listened to Xie Yun list out the things she had bought and was so happy that she almost started singing, but when Xie Yun looked at her and saw that she was about to start singing, she quickly stopped Bai Yue from unleashing a melody that might not have been as melodious as one would have imagined by looking at Bai Yue.

You must know, Bai Yue is a versatile person proficient in a wide array of skills, such as cooking, driving various modes of transportation, combat, medical expertise, adept business management, etc.

But when it comes to talents related to art like singing, dancing and painting, they seemed to leave from her grasp, leaving a trail of comedic mishaps in the past, which is one of the few black histories in Bai Yue's life.

Her attempts at trying to learn these art forms often resulted in outcomes so comical that witnesses might have been tempted to shield their eyes if she attempted to dance, wish for temporary deafness if subjected to her singing, or even humorously speculate that a painting contest with a 5-year-old could result in a surprising or unsurprising defeat of Bai Yue because of her unique artistic quirks.

Acknowledging her limitations, Bai Yue abandoned her fleeting singing aspirations with a resigned mutter under her breath. (A/N: Tell me something that she might be muttering, and if I like it, I might consider adding it here.)

While Xie Yun, amused, merely shook her head and smiled dotingly.

Among the six of them in their group, Bai Yue is the youngest member. Most of the time, despite her age, she displays a remarkable level of maturity, especially when compared to her peers, who are likely still navigating their first or second year of college. While, remarkably, here she is, already holding the title of CEO and chairman of such large corporations.

Nevertheless, beneath this facade of professionalism lies a softer side that she reveals only to those closest to her. In their presence, Bai Yue allows her inherent playfulness and vulnerability to shine through, reflecting a refreshing innocence that aligns more closely with her youthful age.

Xie Yun is also aware that Bai Yue has experienced the darkness of the apocalypse for six years. However, for her, regardless of the challenges Bai Yue has faced or what kind of person she has become, Bai Yue is and will always be her cherished youngest sister. It was Bai Yue who extended a helping hand to Xie Yun during her darkest hours, rescuing her from the clutches of individuals who, tragically, she must still acknowledge as her parents. Without Bai Yue, she would have already died at the hands of those people.

Recalling those memories, Xie Yun's smile briefly faded, a subtle reminder of the scars which she carries deep within her heart, the scars that may never fade away.

Yet, as her gaze returns to Bai Yue, who is currently lost in a fit of sulking, her smile soon returns.

It's OK, if needed, she will still be willing to die for Bai Yue, just like she did in Bai Yue's previous life.

Anyway, her life belongs to Bai Yue, it was Bai Yue, Uncle Bai, Aunt Fang, and her friends who have kept her alive, given her a sense of purpose and a sense of belonging to this inhumane world, so even if she dies for them, she will have no regret.

The moment Bai Yue had told Xie Yun about how Xie Yun had died, she had already believed in Bai Yue, because that was really something she would do. And she actually felt happy when she heard that she had died while Bai Yue, and not Bai Qing.

She knew that others also felt sad, not because they had died, but because died protecting the person who killed Bai Yue, if they had died while protecting Bai Yue, then would have also been happy that they were able to give Bai Yue another chance to live.

Bai Yue said that she didn't want to save a world where none of them existed, but didn't she think this too? She also didn't want to save or even live in a world where only she survived.

Although Bai Yue didn't say it, but they all knew that when Bai Yue said that she died alone, there was not only hatred but also a kind of relief in her eyes, and at that moment, when Bai Yue didn't notice, they had looked at each other and saw the same expression at each other's face.

They understood that all of them saw that relief in her eyes, even uncle and aunt saw it. At that time, Aunt Fang didn't cry because of anything else. It was just because she had seen this relief in Bai Yue's eyes.

They all understood that even if Bai Qing and Qin Chen hadn't killed Bai Yue, she would have killed herself.

A/N: Guys, if the response, i.e., votes and comments, is good, I will bring the ML back to the story and start showing you their interaction.

In last chapter, there were very less comments. I really hope that you guys can take time to leave comments, regarding characters's action, speech, any error, something you like, anything. Even a simple, 'I liked the chapter' will be able to make my day.

I may not reply to all the comment but I read all the comments and I feel so happy and acknowleged to know that my story is appreciate and that I am not doing something wrong or anything.

[Next will be somethings I want to tell someone, but I have no one to tell to. And also the reasons for some settings of the story (I wrote this sentence after completing the whole essay below). ]

No one in my family is aware of me writing on wattpad, which is one of the reason I have rejected all the offers to monetize my work, because this is something I like doing and being told that I am doing a good job really make me very happy. So don't forge to comment.

I am a timid person, but I want to be strong. And hence I wrote about Bai Yue. Some may think that she is too overpowered and has too many opportunities and power and goldfinger(whatever you call it) but that is the type of person I want to be. To be honest, I really like writing, and when I needed to choose what I want to do in the future, I wanted to do something related to finance and if possible be an entreprenuer, but my parents has always expected me to be a doctor, and I didn't want to disappoint them, so I chose science. Why is he reason Bai Yue is a businesswoman and at the same time a doctor.

And in the bracket, I wrote that I have no one to tell all this, so yes, I have friends, and could be said that, whoever that I talk to could be my friend but I am not fortunate enough to have even a single close friend with whom I can talk about everything. And you know, here, no one knows who I am, so I can talk here freely without being afraid of anyone's jugdement or disappointment.

This is also the reason Bai Yue has so many close friends who could die for each other, because that is what I earn, not the death kind, but atleast the ones to whom I could give my back without being afraid of anything and tell her anything I want.

Some people do not realise how rare this kind of frindship is, like my brother, he has two best friends, yes the legendary trio, they have been friends since they were 10 years old something, but... wait I can't tell about him, if he check my phone or laptop and find out that I wrote about him, I would be dead. So I will just stop it here.

Don't forget to comment. It's ok if you don't vote, anyway I don't care much about it. Those who are destined will eventually find their destiny... Hahahaha...

But it is mandatory to comment. It's the fourth time I told you, if you still don't, then I guess... you are a silent reader, then please just vote.
