Mentality

"Well, you will really be alright, Jiang Cheng!" Wei Wuxian said as he patted the shoulder of Jiang Cheng, who was still confused as to why he laughed earlier and now seemed to be in a good mood.

Was Wei Wuxian so stimulated by his anger over his (JC) marriage with Lan Xichen that and lost his mind? Jiang Cheng thought, can't help but feel doubtful. If not for Lan Wangji's expression which now has returned to the usual (expressionless), Jiang Cheng would think that Wei Wuxian has gone mad (crazy). If Jiang Cheng just doesn't know that men can't be pregnant even with demonic cultivation, then Jiang Cheng would think that Wei Wuxian is pregnant and is having mood swings.

Thinking up to here, Jiang Cheng shook his head to erase these messy thoughts which he would never have if it was before. He knew it, Wei Wuxian is really a bad influence!

"Uncle?" Lan Xichen called when he (finally) noticed Lan Qiren's expression. "What's wrong?" he asked him.

Lan Qiren didn't answer, though his expression turned even stranger which made Lan Xichen more puzzled. Yet how can Lan Qiren tell his (elder) nephew that Jiang Cheng doesn't care about his (JC) marriage with him (LXC)? Can he tell him (LXC) this, which is definitely not good? Lan Qiren closed his eyes, but like earlier, he remained silent. This marriage... it is really not meant to be.

Wei Wuxian saw Lan Xichen's expression and wanted to laugh again. Who told you to go through with this marriage? He thought and sneered. He already knows Lan Xichen is in love with someone, so he doesn't expect Lan Xichen to love Jiang Cheng. What he is pissed off about is that it has to be Jiang Cheng who Lan Xichen marries. Wei Wuxian wanted Jiang Cheng to marry someone who could love him. Even if they married without love (at first), they can develop it later, like what happened to Madam Yu and Jiang Fengmian. Of course, without the tragedy.

Yet it has to be Lan Xichen! This pisses him (WWX) off! "Then, we will go first!" Wei Wuxian ignored Lan Xichen and turned to Jiang Cheng. "Lan Zhan and I will visit you next time!" He told him.

You could visit without Lan Wangji... Jiang Cheng thought and just nodded as he saw the couple off. Then, he turned to the remaining two people in the room. "How did your bruise disappear?" he asked Lan Xichen when he saw the other's spotless face.

"Concealment Spell." Lan Xichen answered before he chanted and the bruise on his cheek reappeared.

Jiang Cheng's lip twitched. "Oh." He just muttered. Then, he turned to Lan Qiren when he noticed that the other was staring at him with a complicated gaze. "Elder Lan." He called. "I apologize for the... commotion earlier." He told Lan Qiren. He is referring to Wei Wuxian's outburst that made Lan Qiren alarmed and accompanied Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji to Lotus Pier for fear that Wei Wuxian would kill Lan Xichen.

Lan Qiren just shook his head and inwardly sighed. He now regrets proposing a marriage between his nephew and Jiang Cheng. Despite the two being single, one was trapped in his past relationship (LXC) while the other doesn't care about this new relationship. This is so messed up! However, this marriage can't be undone now. The only good thing in this marriage between Lan Xichen and Jiang Cheng is that they are responsible. Though, thinking that these two just see this marriage as their task... Lan Qiren really feels speechless. So, got nothing to say to this (new) couple, Lan Qiren left after reminding Lan Xichen to cover up the bruise until it disappeared. After all, Lan Xichen is the sect leader of the GusuLan Sect.

Now, only the two were left... who were married. In fact, this is the first day of them as a couple after their marriage yesterday... but things are really awkward, especially after Wei Wuxian's confrontation with Lan Xichen earlier.

"Do you want to eat something?" Jiang Cheng asked to break the silence. Since he is the host, he has to accommodate the guest... who is actually his (now) husband.

Lan Xichen looked at Jiang Cheng and couldn't help but secretly frown. That strange feeling earlier returned after he heard Jiang Cheng say that they were even. 

"What?" Jiang Cheng asked and looked at Lan Xichen when he didn't hear him answer. 

Lan Xichen stared at Jiang Cheng, and then his eyes slowly widened. He finally realized why he felt that there was something off. Nonchalance. Yes, Jiang Cheng looked nonchalant not only when interacting with him... but also in this – their marriage!

(A/N: ooh he finally found out. What you gonna do now, Xichen? XD P.S.: I love WWX enjoying LXC's misfortune, though. WWX be like, so what if you won't (ever) love my brother? He doesn't even give a fck about you, much less this marriage. Because, as LQR mentioned, JC would even marry a dog if he could XD)
