Abhimanyu Pov

As I saw her, my entire surroundings became a blur; it was only her. The way she came running, the way she talked, the way she laughed, and especially the dress she wore—it seemed as if it were made just for her. The way she interacted with my family only made me fall for her more.

As she kissed Aditya, I felt as though I should have been there, but I was abruptly pulled from my reverie by Shourya.

"What are you thinking?" no "Nothing," I replied quickly.

Author POV:

"Now, let's start the party, children," Gautam said.

"Yes, Dad," Nisha said, "let's go."

"Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for giving your time and coming to my dadu birthday."

"And once again, happy birthday, Grandpa! Here is your gift from Annaya."

"Let's welcome Annaya with a round of applause Naksh announced."

Soon, the lights dimmed, and the song began.

Everyone was enjoying Annaya's dance, and someone was capturing her, and it was Abhimanyu who was capturing the moment, oblivious to what others might think of him, his eyes filled with love for Annaya. As the dance concluded, applause filled the air, and in his mind, Abhimanyu wished for an encore.

And then Annaya took the microphone.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for being here today. I'm not great at expressing myself, but today I want to make an effort.

Thank you so much, Dadu, my hero and my everything, for all that you've done, especially for me. When Dad left us, you were the strongest pillar, managing everything and setting aside your own pain.

Many people wonder why I refer to him as my hero, and it's because he truly is. He would attend parent-teacher meetings, show up for Father's Day, assist me with my projects, and much more, all without ever complaining. I'm so grateful to you, Dadu, for never letting me feel the absence of my dad. I love you, Dadu," Annaya said, before going to hug him.

And everyone around became emotional.

"I love you too, my child, and thank you so much for your gift," Manish said, kissing Ananya's forehead.

And then, Manish took the microphone.

"This song was my wife's and my favorite; she was a classical dancer.

The first time I saw her dance to this song, I fell for her, and it quickly became my favorite as well.

After she passed away, I couldn't bring myself to listen to it. But today, after five years, hearing this song again, and especially seeing Ananya dance just like her grandmother, has brought me so much joy. Thank you so much, Ananya," Manish said, as tears welled up in his and Ananya's eyes. They then embraced in a hug, soon joined by all the children in a group hug.

Others watched them with smiles on their faces.

"Alright, alright, let's stop now. Everyone is getting too emotional; it doesn't feel like a birthday party anymore," Manish said, breaking the hug.

Laughter followed, and everyone released their embrace.

"Hmm, how about we do our family dance? What do you say, Dadu?" Naksh suggested with a grin. "Let's go," Manish responded, smiling.
