Chapter 15: Perfect choice.

Kinsey's POV:

When Jackson lead me and the wolf form of Hero out of the den, he brushed my hand with his nose. I giggled despite how cold it was. The wise old wolf sat on his haunches and stared up into my eyes. Then Hero trotted over. My heart instantly started to race. Was I falling in love with a werewolf? I sat down on a stump of a tree and smiled.  Then Jackson beckoned Hero over and put a shirt and trousers on the ground at the wolf's paws.

"Okay," I said understanding the paw pointing to a shelted bit.

I got up and walked into the trees. I guessed that Jackson wanted to let Hero shift without me watching. I waited and looked round the trees. There were so many. Willows, Oak, Beech trees. Wait ... what? Willow trees? I did feel confused. There is no water here. So why were there Willows?

Soon, Hero came over, smiling. He looked even more cute as human. He looked nervous, though!

"Hey," I said.

I put out my hand for him to shake. He did so, smiling.

"Hey," he said. "So you are Kinsey?"

"That's right," I said.. "you are so gorgeous."

"Oh, um ... okay, thank you!"  Hero blushed.

I giggled. Then Hero held out his hand. "Want to go for a walk with me?"

I smiled at him. "Sure."

I held onto his hand and we set off. I couldn't help but feel butterflies in my stomach. Will he like me? Will we be a perfect match?

We were so deep in our convosation that we didn't know what time it was. We were laughing and talking about our pasts. My heart went out to Hero.

"Is that why your name is Hero?" I asked him. "Because of the stuff you been through?"

"I guess," said Hero. "Watching your parents being killed by your auntie and uncle isn't that easy. But I'm glad they died. My Auntie and Uncle, I mean."

He looked like he was about to cry.

"Hey," I said putting my arm round him. "It's okay.""

Hero excepted my hug and burst into tears. I held him close as he burried his head into my shoulder.  Bless him.

"Thank you, Kinsey," he sniffled. "I feel alone sometimes."

"Well, now you aren't," I said gently. "I'm here for you. So is my little Brother and your cousins."

I got a smile at that. Then Hero managed to stop sniffling.

"The Alpha told me you want to become a wolf," he said. "And you need someone to help you, right?"

I nodded. "I think they put us together for that reason."

"I will do it, if you want me to," said Hero. "It will hurt, though!"

I smiled. "That's okay, though!"

"Okay, then," said Hero. "We won't do it today. But we will plan it with Jackson."

I felt excited. I have found someone that was the kindest person in the world, apart from my three friends.

"Should we go back soon?" I asked him. "You have missed dinner."

"It's okay," said Hero. "My people/wolf family don't mind me not going to dinner."

I sighed. Then both our stomachs started to rumble. I was so hungry!

"Let's go back," said Hero. "You are hungry, Kins."

He made me blush.
