A/N: So before this chapter begins I wanted to warn everyone that there will be a few POV changes for this chapter. With Evie being shot, she'll be mostly unconscious which means to get the full story of what's happening, I'll have to switch through POV's, but at least half of it will be Glenn's.

Ricks's POV:

"Evie!" I screamed while running over to the girl who just pushed Carl out of the way of a bullet. She saved my son and in return got shot instead. I picked her up and started carrying her bridal style while running.

The man that shot her ran forward and tried to apologize. But I don't want his apology. Evie is dying because of him. This could have been my son, but it's not. She saved him so now I owe it to her to make sure she lives.

After apologizing, the man told us that there is a farm close by where another man can help Evie. I'm worrying about her dying on the way there. She's lost a lot of blood and shirt has soaked most of it up.

Carl was running right by my side. He had grabbed Evie's hat that had fallen off of her head and put it on his own for safekeeping while Shane ran back to the man who is supposed to be leading us to this farm, but is trailing behind.

"Hey, you move, Shithead!" Shane yelled at the man who shot Evie. "Come on, get us there!"

I stopped running only for a second to turn around and ask the man, "How far!?" When he didn't answer, I asked again. "How far!?"

"Another half mile. That way." The man said while pointing in the direction we need to go. he had also stopped moving and he was panting and trying to catch his breath. "Hershel. Talk to Hershel. He'll help your girl."

I continued running while thinking about what he just said. Evie's not mine. I mean I do care about her, but she's not my kid. I simply just owe her life since she just saved Carl.

Eventually I could see the farm and I adjusted my grip on Evie so I wouldn't drop her. She is like a ragdoll in my arms. Her arms were completely limp and were at her sides as I ran up to the house.

When I approached the house five people ran outside. Three women, an older man, and a teen boy with a baseball bat. The older man called out to me. "Was she bit?"

"Shot!" I answered him. "By your man."

"Otis?" The oldest woman asked. I wasn't sure of the man's name, but that must be it.

I nodded. "He said to find Hershel." I looked into the eyes of the older man. "Is that you?" He nodded. "Help me. Help her."

"Get her inside." The man I now know as Hershel said. I followed him inside the house as he started talking to everyone else. "Patricia, I need my full kit. Maggie, Painkillers, Coagulates- Just grab everything. I need clean towels, sheets, alcohol." He led me into a bedroom and moved the blanket out of the way. "In here." He said and signalled for me to drop Evie on the bed.

"Dad," I heard Carl's worried voice. "Is she going to be okay?"

I didn't answer him because I didn't know what to say. I don't want to scare him or give him false hope. I turned to Hershel after I laid Evie on the bed. "Is she alive?" He ordered me to grab a pillowcase and I did while asking the same question again. "Is she alive?"

"Fold it." He told me while ignoring my question. "Make a pad. Put pressure on the wound."

"Is she going to be okay?!" Carl asked again because I had ignored him and Hershel ignored me.

"Beth!" Hershel yelled out. "Can you take the kid out of here, he shouldn't have to see any of this."

"I'm not going anywhere!" Carl stated in a worried tone. "I just want to know if she'll be okay."
