The plan that everybody agreed on was to pack up all our belongings, make it look like we fled the prison, and ambush the Governor and his men. Both Carl and I have been arguing saying that we need to be here to fight the Governor. I understand why they don't want Carl to, and with me, I guess I understand that as well. I'm pregnant, nobody wants the pregnant lady in battle. It makes sense, but I hate it.The only other people who weren't fighting in this upcoming battle are Hershel, Beth, and Judith. Obviously the youngest Grimes can't even hold anything yet, so how would she be able to fight. Maybe he could deafen all of them with her loud ass screaming.
As we were loading the cars with our belongings, Rick tried to stop Carl from walking and talk to him, but Carl shrugged off his father's touch angrily and kept moving. Glenn and I noticed the situation and walked over to Rick.
"I've never seen him this mad." Glenn said to Rick about Carl. "Even with Lori. He just shut down."
"Well, he wasn't mad when Lori died." I shrugged. "He was heartbroken. This is different."
"He's still a kid." Rick sighed. "It's easy to forget." He then slammed the hood down of the car he was working on and walked away from Glenn and I.
I watched everybody load things into cars and ready their positions so they can fight the Governor. I want to help. I feel like I need to. The prison is my home too, so I should be able to help defend it.
I opened my mouth to speak to Glenn, but he cut me off. "No."
"You didn't even know what I was gonna say." I groaned.
"I can see it in your eyes. No." Glenn said again.
"I need to help, Love." I argued. "This is my home too, I want to help defend it."
"I know you do." Glenn stated softly. "But you're pregnant. I'm not putting you or or child at risk. It's not happening."
"But, Glenn-"
Glenn cut me off. "Look, even if you somehow managed to convince me, Rick and Daryl would never go for it. And I'm pretty sure Oliver would kill me if I let you do it."
I tilted my head slightly in confusion. "And why the hell would Ollie care?"
Right at that moment, Oliver walked past me and commented, "Cause you're carrying my godchild, that's why."
"Excuse you?" I questioned. "I never agreed to that."
"Neither did I." Glenn added.
Oliver sighed like glenn and I were both stupid before explaining his reasoning for claiming my unborn child as his 'Godchild'. "It's simple. You're both like siblings to me. Which would make me the baby's uncle."
"With you so far." Glenn chuckled.
"But looking around this group, if anything were to happen to either one of you- God forbid. If something happens it's my job to step up. Me and Maggie. Look at all the other candidates. We have Rick who is sometimes in crazy town. We have Daryl, who would protect his grandchild, but would not always be there because he's our hunter and one of our best fighters. Beth is too young, she can babysit, but she's not ready to be a mother. Hershel can't even run. Carl is a little boy. And Andrea's a bitch."
"What about Carol?" I asked teasingly since he didn't bother to mention his mother. I know that Carol would be a great mother figure to our child if she needed to be.
"My moms old, do you really think she should be raising another baby?"
Oliver's comment made me laugh. "You know, if you're wanting to become a parent, you could just get Maggie pregnant-"
