“Some prefer their food bland and light, instead of salty and spicy. Everyone has a different preference. Maybe Jisoo has had her fill of fancy men like you. She’s been working at your side for nine years, after all. Let it go.”

Beep, beep, beep.

“I can't let her go like this.”

“Why not? Can the high and mighty Kim Taehyung have fallen for his secretary, Jisoo?”

Beep, beep, chirp, bop beep, boop. Beep.

“I need to have her with me. I can't do my work otherwise.”

“Then do whatever you can, and try and stop her from leaving.”

Beep, beep, chirp, chirrp.

“It might be better for me to just die than do something embarrassing like that...”

“Well, that’s another option. Oh, wow! I’m getting good vibes today. I might be able to set a new record at this rate...yeah!”

Beep, beep, beep, boop, bop beep, boop…….

taehyung swung his fist.

The emotional punch sent the smartphone in Yoo-sik's hand flying off. The chance of getting a new high score in Anipang flew off as well.

“Aack! Aack! Kim Taehyung! you brute! I’ve a mind to blow you up, too!”

‘Time's up.’ The female voice declared his high-scoring streak to be at an end. Yoo-sik could almost feel tears springing to his eyes at the sound of that cold voice. He slowly walked over to his phone and picked it up. He glowered at Taehyung but, sensing that something serious was going on, he quietly settled onto a sofa.

TAEHYUNG stretched out in a sexy position on the sofa and staring at the ceiling, looked much too charming for a man who'd been coldly rejected last night and was still suffering from the effects.

“To think that the great Kim Taehyung was rejected by his trusty secretary of nine years. What a pity. It's going too far. I didn't see her that way, but jisoo's not really all that—”

“Shut it.”

“Alright.”

Taehyung had come over to his room ever since the morning staff meeting and remained in that state. “What to do, what to do?” he'd been mumbling without end.

“You look like a rat caught in the rain.”

Yoo-sik found Taehyung glowering at him and froze. He rubbed down his goosebumps and promptly shut up.

When had it all begun?

It must have been the day she did his tie for him for the first time. He had loved that. Her care had felt as relaxing as a sweet dream, warm enough to make him drowsy. Even though they were a young woman’s hands, he didn’t feel the usual disgust or revulsion, and he began to ask for her help with such things more often.

He’d never drunk alcohol outside his home before he met jisoo. There had been no one to drive for him.

He couldn't trust taxi drivers, chauffeurs, or even the company chauffeurs who drove company vehicles. He couldn’t imagine getting in a car driven by someone he could not trust while in a groggy state.

But jisoo was different.

That's why he’d had jisoo get a driver's license when he’d become vice-chairman and could no longer avoid social appointments. Jisoo, ever so smart and quick, had earned her license in the blink of an eye and driven for him when he needed her.
