It was already sundown and Y/n had failed to find Inupi, who knows where he is now. She could feel the rising panic and anger continue in her, slowly boiling over.
She can't help but release her anger at a trash bin, kicking it over and she watched curiously as it rolled into a certain location; a trash dump.
Y/n could make up a figure among the trash, she squinted her eyes and could somehow see blond hair with the faint light of the streetlight.
It could've been a dead body for all she knew, but she decided to approach. There were two people, both bound by tape, and were in pretty bad shape.
Her gaze widened in realization. "Inupi?" She kneeled beside him, trying to free him from his restraints.
While she was doing so, the other person was stirred awake. "Where...ah, fuck..." He looked around to see the familiar blond. "Inupi-!"
Y/n looked at him. "Who are you and how do you know Inupi?" She questioned as she placed Inupi in a more comfortable position.
"I'm Hanagaki Takemichi... Inupi's my friend," He answered and he could tell it wasn't the answer she was looking for. "We, uh... got beat up by-"
"Toman members?" She questioned.
"Well, yes... I mean, former now I guess," He thought out loud. "Anyway... can you please help me out?" She freed him as well and Takemichi thanked her again. "I'm guessing you know Inupi too?"
"Yes, he's my friend too," She replied. "I thought Toman was supposed to be good? Why are they beating up their own members?"
Hanagaki sighed. "It's a long story but basically, one division of Toman betrayed the gang and now they're sending a message,"
She nodded with much thought, like a student understanding a lecture in class. "So gang betrayals are a real thing huh?"
The blond sweatdropped at her reply. "Well... yes?" He then paused to do a double-take. "But... if you're friends with Inupi, doesn't that mean you're in a gang too?" He assumed she was, seeing as she's patched up in some areas.
"What? No," She raised her brow at him. "Just because he's in a gang doesn't mean all his friends are in one too, are yours?"
"Yes?" He replied.
She deadpanned. "Now that's just sad," Y/n crossed her arms. "You need to widen your circle then,"
Y/n then smiled which Hanagaki was taken aback by, he thought she was incapable of it, after all, she had been emitting a murderous aura since the moment he awoke.
Y/n opened her palm for him to take. "I'm L/n Y/n,"
He took it. "Nice to meet you, L/n,"
Her demeanor then dropped and she gripped his hand tight. He visibly winced at her strength, he swore she could've been in a gang from her strength.
"You're Toman's first division captain," She narrowed her gaze at him. "Inupi's captain... aren't you supposed to be strong? But you can't even protect your member, let alone yourself... what kind of a leader are you?"
Her tone wasn't condescending, rather it sounded like a real genuine question rooted in worry, Hanagaki could tell she cared for Inupi.
He then tightened his grip as well. "I might not be the strongest, but I will always fight to protect my friends," He paused. "I know I'm weak, but that doesn't mean I stand aside watching them get hurt,"
The grasp on his hand slowly softened and her chill demeanor came back. "You're a good person Takemichi, I like you,"
"l-like me?" He somewhat blushed as he the blond started to overthink the word.
