Chapter 16: The Beginning of Chaos

Out of all the things that could happen that week, Y/n didn't expect a playdate with the younger brother of Roponggi's rulers. 

Haitani Rindou. That's his name. Maybe blond? Who knows how many dyes his hair went through; he even has blue highlights on - wait, is that what you call those? Eh. 

"You've been staring at me for ten minutes now," The male said. 

Y/n raised a brow. "You were counting?" 

Okay, No. This wasn't a playdate, but it sure did feel like one since her father's secretary was talking to Ran; Rin's older brother, and now the 'kids' get to hang out together. 

Soon, the conversation between Ran and S/n was finished. "I trust you two will keep an eye on her, unless..." S/n's voice turned low and threatening, but he kept his features steady and calm. 

"Don't worry about me S/n, I can handle myself and them," She says, a reminder of how easily she immobilized Ran a few weeks ago. 

There was a visible irritation in Ran's expression despite his wearing a smile. "That was one time I didn't expect a delicate flower to be so-" 

"Just admit you got bested by a girl," Rindou deadpanned, which earned Rin and scowl from Ran that says 'Fuck you'. To which Rin flipped him off. 

Ran rebutted by flipping him off as well with both hands, shoving the gesture in Rin's face. Rin, on the other hand, mirrored his older brother, and now they have flipped each other off in a silent argument. 

Y/n looked at S/n with a confused look. "These are rulers of Roppongi?" She asked in a hushed tone. 

S/n sighed. "Fearsome, yet oh so immature."

"Your phone kept getting notifications; are you not getting that?" Rindou asks. 

They were currently walking around Yokohama; Tenjiku's turf. Y/n glanced at Rindou before checking her phone to see a notification from Seishu, it had been weeks since she last saw him. 

Ran eyed her. "You look like a kicked puppy." 

"And you look like a used Q-tip," She scoffed. 

"Hey now, no need to snap. I was just saying," Ran shrugged. "You look sad. Did your boyfriend break up with you or something?" 

Ran wasn't worried about her; he was just naturally nosey, and he wanted to know if she had a significant other, just because. 

Y/n looked at him. "Do you want me to kick you again?" 

The oldest male immediately covered his family jewels. "You really like hitting my nuts, don't you?" 

"Sure, I like hitting your nuts," Y/n says in a mocking-sarcastic tone. 

Rindou rolled his eyes. "Please don't talk weirdly when we're in public."

Running into Tenjiku made Y/n realize that her father's instant promotion wasn't just by purely working; it was also because he was involved in crime that helped them get from dirt poor to multibillionaire rich in just a few years.

Y/n would've never expected it. To her, her father was sweet and caring and always sacrificed himself for others - not a ruthless gang member who ruled alongside a Yakuza boss as the right-hand man.
