FIVE MONTHS LATER

I can't stop staring at the engagement ring on my finger.

I keep thinking everything that's happening right now is too good to be true. I keep imagining that what I have with Dominic isn't real and one day I'll wake up and he won't be lying in bed beside me. That the ring on my finger will disappear.

Anytime those thoughts come up, Dominic pushes them out of my head.

Well, more like fucks them out of my head until I can't even remember what I was thinking about.

Each time he succeeds at taking my ability to walk.

It's honestly infuriating.

But I love it.

Dominic's the only man that has ever made me feel amazing in my body. It makes me think about how long I waited for someone like him to come into my life. I'll gladly wait a lifetime if it means I'll get to be with him.

It's mid-March, meaning Dominic and I have been engaged for five months. We started wedding planning the morning after we got engaged.

Dominic's idea. Not mine.

I don't mind though. I actually find it quite adorable.

On another note, my birthday was a few days ago. I'm officially twenty-two now. This was also my first birthday without my grand-père.

It was hard but I got through the day without crying much. However, nothing will beat last year's birthday.

The next morning I was stocking up the shop and found the last-ever painting my grand-père worked on. The one that he started but never finished.
