"I'm jealous because we started off as 'just friends' too."

   "What're you doing?"

Jupiter looked up from her book, finding herself face-to-face with Will Noland, who stood there grinning, interrupting what had been a quiet afternoon in the library. "What do you think?" She laughed, closing her book partway. "Reading."

"Oh, a reading girl?" he teased, slipping into the chair across from her. "Reading what?"

She narrowed her eyes playfully. "If you must know, it's about healing spells," she said, biting the inside of her cheek.

"No way!" Will leaned back, looking genuinely intrigued. "I want to be a healer too!"

"Really?" Jupiter tilted her head, a little surprised. Will didn't seem like the type to have a passion for healing, much less an entire career interest. "Why?"

"It's just so fascinating, honestly," Will shrugged, eyes bright with a kind of intensity she hadn't noticed before. "Everything about it is beautiful. And, of course, there's the bonus of helping people. You?"

"My thoughts exactly," she replied with a smile, suddenly finding herself sitting up straighter, feeling a kind of connection she didn't expect.

Will's face lit up. "Maybe we can study together sometime. I've got a ton of notes on different herbs and their uses."

Jupiter raised an eyebrow, impressed despite herself. "You actually take notes on this stuff?"

"Yeah," Will admitted, looking a bit sheepish. "Healing isn't just about memorizing spells. It's about understanding the ingredients, the intent behind each one, the history. It's like putting together a puzzle."

Jupiter nodded slowly, starting to see him in a new light. "I guess I underestimated you, Will."

He chuckled, leaning in. "Don't worry, I get that a lot. So, what chapter are you on?"

She glanced at her book, flipping to the page she had marked. "I'm just starting the section on ancient healing practices."

Will's eyes lit up. "That's one of my favorite topics! Did you know some of those methods are still used today because they're so effective?"

Jupiter's smile grew as she absorbed his enthusiasm. "No, I didn't know that. Maybe you can fill me in on the details?"

"Absolutely," he said, leaning in a bit closer, voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "But first, I have to know—do you believe in the old legends about healing crystals?"
