Alright, so life's getting pretty busy now that school is out for me and my boss is putting me back to work. I'm going to start posting every other Friday instead of every week like I have been doing my best to do
This chapter's pretty important since it covers some stuff that'll be relevant in the future and it explains a lot that's happening from now on since we don't have a lot left

"Can you believe it!?" Julia shouted excitedly, making Lilith wince slightly from how shrill it was. "We're going to be Admirals! That's like, five steps up from Commander!"
Lilith looked over at her roommate from her bed and said, "Once this prototype is fully developed, yes. He's explained many times over that this new armor is the biggest advancement made within our division. And with all of these recent advancements, he said we'd get to move up if we choose to accept this armor when it's fully functional."
Julia jumped up from her bed once again and stepped up to her armor closet at the foot of her bed, looking at the two sets. There was the original titanium armor on the right, which was thick and equipped with a control pad on the right forearm, and the left held the prototype, which took the original design and excelled it in every aspect. Overall, the armor was smaller and powered by plasma. That was only possible because the scientists on the sixth floor had been able to create a production core within the armor itself, albeit limited during constant use.
The helmet itself had a much sharper design and an advanced cloaking mechanism in its visor. The boots held plasma thrusters, which when tested were able to add an additional five feet to a vertical jump, and up to ten feet for a single horizontal leap. The armor held a scalene design, layered in large sections of black with dark blue edging around each of the joints to indicate where the individual was most flexible.
Julia quickly grabbed the helmet before placing it over her head. She turned back around towards Lilith and asked, "How do I look?"
"Like an idiot without armor," Lilith commented with a smirk. She received a discerning look from her companion once the cloaking was taken down, followed by the helmet being lifted back up into the air. Lilith watched as Julia turned back around and stared at the helmet for a few seconds before hanging it back up.
"And don't forget," Lilith started before she started to speak in a voice mimicking that of Philip's. "'When this armor is tested and we know it works for you both, you will be promoted alongside the success of another groundbreaking advancement in our own technology.'"
Julia started to laugh hysterically from how bad the imitation sounded. She collapsed back onto her bed with a grunt before giggling, then said, "Yeah, it's amazing. We've been stuck with the same boring armor for like, ten plus years. I bet the Commanders before us dealt with even worse."
"How much are you willing to bet?" Lilith challenged as she sat up in her bed. "There's gotta be a price for making something like that."
Julia thought for a moment before saying, "If I'm right, you get my spot in the upcoming tournament. We have tomorrow to prepare for it."
"Yeah, I know I know," Lilith jokingly said, never having dreamed of following through something like that, and lay down in her bed.
Julia turned to look at Lilith and said, "I heard they're planning a new creature for the arena. Something more dangerous than the night beasts. And they were the worst in the last one. Even if it's been ages since then, watching the fights in the arena have got to be the best part about living here."
Lilith smirked before asking, "You don't think that watching the experiments' powers is the best part? I mean, there are thousands of them here, and they all have their own unique abilities. Seeing all of those work together is incredible!"
