Before you read, just know that I'm posting early because I'm not going to be home for the next scheduled post on the 19th. However, I will continue to stick to my usual posting schedule afterwards. so there won't be another chapter post until August 2nd. And my early post will result in a shortened chapter, though it sets up the next chapter pretty well

Aside from my weird schedule, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter just as much as I did while writing!

p.s. I didn't do any editing on this chapter, so it's pasted from Google Docs. Everything you read is as raw as it can get

Lucia screamed out in fury, shattering the chains around her wrists, before lunging for the ones holding her ankles down to the wall. Before she even had a chance to reach halfway, two guards ran up and slammed her wrists back into the wall and chained them down once more. She tried to blast them with fire, but they were well out of the way by the time she could charge enough magic.

Lucia twisted her entire body to try and free herself, but a needle was jammed into her neck before she could even tear the chains off. She screamed again, unleashing an explosion of fire that surrounded her entire body and burnt the guards around her. Her head dropped to the ground as the tranquilizer started to enter her body. The moment she heard footsteps approaching, her head snapped up, and the first person she saw was Belos.

Belos stopped nearly ten feet from Lucia, staring at her as the guards around her began to recover from the blast. He folded his right hand behind his back and remained silent. His left hand was held in a cast as the fall from the explosion had broken his wrist. He could see her eyes glowing with rage, but as the tranquilizer continued to spread throughout her body, her movements were weak until her head dropped to the floor once again, unconscious.

Admiral Lilith watched from the side as Lucia and Belos glared at one another until the experiment fell unconscious. She took a few steps forward and said, "She killed them all on her own without even a single scratch, Sir."

Belos didn't look away from Lucia as he listened to Admiral Lilith. He took a deep breath and said, "Thank you, Admiral. For now, take her to Floor Twenty Seven. Lock her in a chamber until I can fix this mess."

"Right away, Sir," Lilith replied, gesturing to the remaining, unharmed guards, and began to pull Lucia's unconscious body from the wall. The moment the experiment was free, she turned to the guards and ordered, "Tell the scientists to push her to her limits. We need her held until her collar is fixed. If there is any chance of her escaping, sedate her and force her back in. Guard the chamber doors with your lives if you must."

The guards carrying Lucia's body all saluted Lilith before walking towards the nearest lift. The moment they were all out of earshot, Lilith turned to Belos again and said, "We aren't going to be able to hold her for much longer. I may have killed a few hundred while she was unconscious down there, but the moment she was up, she was killing every. Single. Phantom. That she could see. She's a force that we cannot control."

"I know, Admiral. I know," Belos said quietly. He was still staring at the same spot where Lucia had been held just moments before. "I am in the process of coming up with a solution. But the first thing that needs to be done is creating a new pad. The moment we link it to her collar, we can calm her down, deactivate her powers, and stabilize everything once more."

Lilith took a step forward and pulled the helmet off of her own head. She reached underneath and activated the video that she had pulled from within the recording system. The moment the video was up and running, she turned the helmet to face Belos and said, "This is what I witnessed down there mere seconds after she woke up."
