Truth Hurts

As the sun began to rise, Lydia opened her eyes and thought.

"Today is gonna be good, I can't wait to catch Victoria in the act with her lies"

As soon as she left the common room, she bumped into Alexei.

"Are you ready for this"
"Yes I'm 1000% ready for this"

They both headed to Hogsmeade to meet Ophelia.

Once they saw Ophelia, Lydia ran to her.

"Sister, we are ready"
"Ok, Victoria is meeting me in Upper Hogsfield, use this to help you stay unseen"

Just as they walked; they used the invisibility potion to hide themselves.

"Ah Victoria, how lovely to see you"
"Ophelia, my dearest friend, how are you?"
"I'm very well"
"I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk"
"Of course I could do with the exercise seen as I'm getting bigger now"

Both women left the house.

"So how are both of you?"
"We are both well but I do have a secret to tell you, promise you won't tell my husband"
"Of course I won't"

Without hesitation, Victoria confessed that the child in her belly wasn't Alexei's child.

"Does he know that the child isn't his"
"No but I fear it will kill him as I know he has always wanted to be a father"

Alexei and Lydia couldn't believe what they were hearing.

Before she could carry on, Victoria said to Ophelia.

"I must be going, my husband is expecting to be home soon, but we will carry this conversation soon"

Once Victoria had left, Lydia and Alexei came back.

"I knew she was a whore and yet she accused me of being on"
"Calm down Lydia, we have our proof and I can file for a divorce"
"That was much easier than casting Imperio on her"
"Yes it was"

Once they had the information, Lydia thanked Ophelia for being a witness.

"Sister, I must go but thank you for everything"
"You're most welcome Lydia, I'll see you soon"

As they headed back to Hogwarts, Lydia had something to say.

"Alexei, there is something you should know: I've kept it hidden for a while but I'm pregnant and there is no doubt that you are the father"

"Is that true"
"Yes, I'm 15 weeks pregnant, plus you are the only man I have slept with"

Alexei had gone from sorrowful to joyful at the fact that his love was carrying his child.

"Does that mean you have to marry me"
"I'd do it in a heartbeat my darling"

Love was in the air once again for Lydia.
