-Pete's Pov-

I need a plan.

Okay, I'll wait until Meagan leaves for work, I'll leave and call a cab. I can't do it here because she might have this place bugged.

Meagan is a fucking psychopath.

Anyway, I'll start walking, wearing clothes that I wouldn't be recognized in, probably what I wore to the mall that day. I'll go to the end of her road and call for a cab.

I just want to go home and see my Pattycakes.

I have about three hours until she gets up to go to work. I can let my phone charge, and get some rest.

...

I heard my door open a little bit.

"Pete honey, I'm going to go to work now. I'll be back in about two hours."

She walked over to me and kissed me. I tried so hard not to cringe.

"I love you." She whispered.

"I love you too!" I gritted out.

"Okay bye" she left the room.

Moments later I heard the front door shut and her car start.

I hurriedly put my shoes on, and laced them up, grabbed my phone and a bottle of water and started walking.

I pulled my phone out.

"Can I get a cab at the corner of 4th and Fremont street?"

Sure enough, forty five minutes later, a cab showed up.

I sighed with relief, and climbed in.

I told him my address.

When I finally pulled up in front of our house, there was tears in my eyes.

I paid the cabbie and walked to the door.

Hesitantly, I knocked on the door.
