Jimin stormed out of the front door angrily. He wiped the tears from his eyes with the sleeve of his jacket as they ran down his cheeks like a waterfall. His heart pounded wildly in his chest as he tried to calm his breathing. He was so incredibly hurt and angry at the same time. He was so angry at Taehyung and also at Jungkook.
Why hadn't Jungkook chosen him?
Why didn't Jungkook run after him?
And since when did he keep secrets from him?
Jimin turned back to the front door, which was still open, and struggled with his emotions. He remembered how they had argued like this once before, when Jungkook had chosen his ex-boyfriend. At the time, it had been like a stab in the heart for Jimin, but he had accepted it because his best friend had been happy and he wanted him to be happy. At the same time, however, he also lost his best friend back then, because Jungkook was no longer there for him and Jimin was left alone.
At that time, it was no longer just Jimin and Jungkook, but Jungkook and Taemin - without Jimin. He had already let him go once and he couldn't deny that he was angry with his best friend inside, but at the same time he was happy for him.
With his lips pressed tightly together, Jimin clenched his hands into fists and wiped his face once more. He didn't want to lose Jungkook again, not because of a stranger who meddled in things that were none of his business. He only had to put up with it for a year, then this arrogant guy would disappear again.
Taking a deep breath, Jimin swallowed his pride. He didn't want to fight with Jungkook, not over someone like Taehyung. Someone who was insignificant, even if the pink-haired man really did throw tantrums around him. After all, Jungkook was right: he had to make nice with that homophobic asshole somehow, after all, he was living with him.
He re-entered the Jeons' house and closed the front door behind him. Then he slowly climbed the stairs and quietly opened the door to Jungkook's room. "Kookie?" he asked cautiously as he poked his head into the room. Actually, he felt completely pathetic showing up again after his freak-out, knowing full well that the dark-haired man would surely say something stupid again. But Jungkook was more important to him. He didn't want to risk losing him forever just because he was too stubborn to apologize.
When he received no answer, he entered the room completely and looked around. He cautiously stuck his head into the bathroom, which was just as deserted as the rest of the room. Then he went to the back of the room, where the bed was separated from the room by a partition.
He stopped between the walls, his eyes widening as he saw Jungkook sitting on Taehyung's lap and crying into his shoulder. Jimin's heart skipped a beat before continuing to beat at double speed. Tears immediately welled up in his eyes again, a feeling of betrayal and disappointment spreading through him.
Why did Jungkook lie to him?
When Taehyung then turned the blond and leaned over the smaller man, Jimin's fuse tripped again. A wave of jealousy and anger washed over him, his fists clenched convulsively and his throat felt tight. "No way, there's nothing going on," Jimin snapped at the two of them, his voice sounding rough and broken. An unbelievable rage rose up in him again, making him briefly forget why he had come back in the first place.
Without waiting for an answer, he turned around and stormed out of the room. His steps quickened and his breathing became irregular as he ran out of the house again.
"Jimin," Jungkook called after him, his voice drenched in worry and confusion. With an effort, he pushed Taehyung away from him with his arms and legs and ran after his pink-haired friend.
