"Don't touch me," he roared, his eyes flashing angrily.

Taemin deliberately shouted louder to attract the attention of the party guests and roughly pushed Jungkook away from him. The latter ran his fingers through his hair in stress and grinned. "Luckily, I don't have to pretend to like you anymore," the black-haired man with the blonde strands explained. His voice was cold and dismissive.

Jungkook's heart tightened as if it had been hit by an icy wave. "What... Are you talking about?" he asked, hoping only for a misunderstanding. He prayed that what he had just heard was just a bad joke.

Taemin sighed theatrically, but his sly grin never left his lips. "I was just having fun with Minho and Key," he began to explain indifferently, pointing with his thumbs over his shoulders to where his two friends were standing and grinning at him with amusement. "So we made a bet. Key said it would take me a week to get you into bed, with Minho being generous with a month. I really thought it would only take me a few days to not get you in bed again. However, I really thought it would be quicker than three weeks and more importantly cheaper. All this going out has really torn a hole in my wallet," Taemin explained. His voice sounded unaffected and distant. "So in the end, not only did I lose this bet, but I lost a shitload of money because of you. But it's all worth it now that I see the look on your face. It really is priceless."

Jungkook's face lost all color. His eyes, which had previously radiated so much joy, became dull and empty. "You... that was all a lie?" the blond broke out weakly, fighting desperately against the tears welling up in his eyes.

Taemin burst into loud, mocking laughter and began to speak after he had calmed down again: "You really thought I was serious about all this?" The older man skillfully disguised his voice to bring out the same cute voice Jungkook had once loved so much. "I've missed you, Kookie. I'm so incredibly sorry. I never stopped thinking about you," he mimicked his previously said sentences, his voice dripping with sarcasm and mockery. "You're really naive, Jungkook, and so easy to have. All you have to do is whisper pretty words to you and you kiss one's feet." His words were like poison that slowly ate into Jungkook's heart, leaving him heartbroken and his pride destroyed.

The blond felt his heart burst into a thousand pieces. It was the same pain as when they broke up eight months ago, perhaps even worse. He tried to pull himself together, but his eyes glistened with unshed tears.

In the meantime, the music had stopped to give free rein to the curious gazes of the bystanders, who were eager to see how the unfolding drama unfolded. An eerie silence fell over the room, broken only by Taemin's next words. "I'm really sorry, Jungkook, but the only thing you're really good at is sex. It's really fucking good with you. But you're too clingy and that's just super annoying. No one in their right mind loves a man who is more clingy than any woman," Taemin added in a voice as sharp as a razor blade.

His two friends standing next to him burst out laughing, and some of the onlookers also started to giggle. Some of them even pulled out their cell phones to record the spectacle.

Jungkook wanted to scream at his ex-boyfriend, insult him and preferably beat him black and blue with his bare hands. Every word Taemin said felt like thousands of tons of weight on his shoulders, pulling him deeper and deeper into the dark. He tried to remain strong, but his lips trembled uncontrollably and his hands clenched into tight fists.

"It was a nice distraction, nothing more. If you're nice, I'll be happy to do it again," Taemin said with a grin on his face that was as cold as ice. He knew exactly that he was overstepping boundaries and destroying Jungkook emotionally. The blonde felt his knees go weak and he struggled to stay on his feet. The tears, which he had successfully held back until now, now began to flow down his cheeks like a waterfall.
