'While bored and given my first break in a while from mama duties due to Shuichi focusing on being a dedicated father now, I caught up with Ran, Sonoko and Masumi on their way to school while out for a walk and we ran into a corpse. It appeared to be a natural death and I deemed it not a homicide, regardless of how similar it was to an accidental death ten years ago before I left for America after Shuichi. We called Takagi for an update, but Shin-Chan is still very unconvinced.' Yuki's thought recap.

"Yuki, why isn't it a homicide?" Masumi asks.

"I felt the same feeling my father did about the case." Yuki explains.

'It's not a homicide but a robbery?' Shinichi's thoughts say.

"It's strange though, right? I'm sure that Inspector Megure was also in charge of the case that occurred ten years ago. It's only natural that he would consider it to be a case of serial murder, and yet..." Ran begins.

'That's true. Ten years ago, before Yuki left for America, Inspector Megure is sure to have seen that word written in blood too. And yet... why? Besides that, Dad was talking with the boy who first found the corpse. Moreover, he was smiling too. I wonder why. I wonder why Dad declared that it was not a homicide and why Yuki agreed the one today wasn't. Why?' Shinichi's thoughts ask.

"Don't tell me that the police know who the culprit is and are hiding it?" Masumi asks. Masumi thinks but was aware of Yuki leaning into Subaru's arms as he stood beside Yuki.

"You mean like what we see in the movies or dramas? Because the culprit is from a distinguished family, the police force or the political and business circles? Though although it's frustrating, no one can lay a hand on them!" Sonoko asks. Yuki's face blanks with Shinichi's.

'I mean you're the daughter of the Suzuki Financial Group yourself too, aren't you?' Shinichi's thoughts comment.

"You watch too many dramas." Yuki comments aloud over Shinichi's thoughts.

"But... it's hard to believe that Yuki and Shinichi's father would pull out of a case for such a reason." Ran explains.

"That's true." Sonoko says.

"Then, why not ask for advice?" Subaru suggests, "From your deduction loving classmate, Kinichi."

'Stop teasing my little brother, husband.' Yuki's thoughts say.

'Kinichi?' Shinichi's thoughts ask.

"Huh? Oh, yes, I guess so." Ran replies.

"Huh? Just what are you talking about?" Masumi asks, "If you're going to ask for advice on the case, it would be Kudo Shinichi, right? He's a high school detective as well as your boyfriend, isn't he?"

'What is it? Gang up on Shin-Chan to embarrass him day?!' Yuki's thoughts explain. Subaru doesn't react to Shinichi slightly squeaking in embarrassment with Ran.

"Although it seems that he's pursuing a case right now and isn't at home!" Masumi continues.

"Oh. So, the young master of this house is that high school detective." Subaru replies.

"Eh? Don't tell me that you were living here and dating Yuki without even knowing something like that?" Masumi asks.

"No, because Ran and Yuki told me that the Shinichi who lives here is a plan, nothing special high school student. And besides... rumor has it that the high school detective Kudo Shinichi passed away when investigating a case and disappeared from the stage of solving mysteries, from what I heard." Subaru explains.
